Be honest: Snack or Pass? 🧀🐟

Taking the Girl Dinner aesthetic to a very savory level today!! I’ve got Norwegian smoked salmon (so rich and savory), those elite Opal apples (if you know, you know), and... pickled quail eggs (creamy and sour) + many more!

I feel like this plate is going to be polarizing. Are we loving the variety or is it too much going on at once? Personally, I think it’s a 10/10!!

I recently tried a savory snack plate inspired by the Girl Dinner trend, featuring Norwegian smoked salmon, Opal apples, pickled quail eggs, and more. The smoked salmon stood out with its rich, buttery flavor that paired wonderfully with the tangy creaminess of the pickled quail eggs. The Opal apples added a crisp, slightly sweet contrast that balanced the savory elements perfectly. Adding to this, I incorporated some Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese and Aidells Chicken & Apple sausage. The cheese brought an extra layer of garlic-infused smoothness, while the sausage added a touch of smoky sweetness with honey dill mustard on the side, which really enhanced the overall taste experience. This mixture of creamy, tangy, and savory items created a delightful variety that kept every bite interesting. One of the best parts about creating snack plates like this is the flexibility—you can tailor it to your preferences. For instance, if you love heat, adding chili garlic crisp or Dijon mustard offers an exciting kick. Plus, including pickled vegetables like carrots brings a sour crunch that complements the richness of meats and cheeses. From my experience, these types of snack plates are fantastic for gatherings or as a satisfying personal treat. The key is balancing flavors and textures without overwhelming the palate. If you're thinking of putting together something similar, try focusing on quality ingredients that deliver distinct tastes, such as elite Opal apples or artisanal cheeses, to elevate your snack game. Overall, this snack plate was a 10/10 for me—full of personality, flavor, and the perfect mix of savory and tangy elements. If you’re curious about snack plating or love experimenting with new taste combinations, give this a try and see which items become your snack must-haves!
