My Drop Zone Setup That Actually Works
We used to be struggling with our little mudroom. It cannot fit bigger shoe shelf to put all our shoes. And nowhere to sit down to put shoes on when we needed. Here is our drop zone system now, and works good for us! 🤗
1. More storage👢🥾🩴🥿👟
- The sideboard fits all of our shoes.
- The bench holds leashes and poop bags for our pup.
2. Clean, tidy surface
- We used to put keys, mail, lip gloss, and other essentials on top of a small shoe shelf in the mudroom area. It's now clutter-free and calm.
3. Function over everything🧢
- A hat rack for all our caps that we wear most frequently.
- The bench doubles as a seat for putting on shoes— We don’t need to put on our boots in the garage anymore.
😆What’s funny is, we didn’t plan any of this. One random day at HomeGoods and World Market, we found these pieces we loved... brought them home… and they just worked together.

I think it’s very unique that you use the light brown cabinet to store shoes. I never would have known, it’s hidden so well. I have a tacky hanging shoe rack inside the coat closet. I’m taking notes.
