Welcome to My Lived-In Home Era🫶

There’s so much pressure to make our homes look “aesthetic” online, but real life isn’t curated, right?

Like my home decor colors are not the trendy colors.

Big pile of dishes on the counter every day, the cushion on the couch is always squished, and lots of clothes on top of my dresser, not matching color cute straw cover for my Stanley, etc. My home is not perfect but that’s the version of home I’m in love with.

Because these little imperfection are the proof that I’m actually living here, not performing for the internet. What I post here are all honest sharing!

... Read moreIn today’s world, there is a strong pressure to maintain picture-perfect homes that look like they've come straight from Pinterest or Instagram feeds. However, embracing the lived-in home era means accepting that real life is rarely flawless or perfectly styled. This movement celebrates the reality that home is a place where life happens — with all its imperfections and everyday messes that reflect genuine living. For instance, the common sight of piles of dishes after meals is a natural part of daily routines, not a sign of neglect. Personal touches such as cushions being squished from frequent use or clothing casually left on a dresser show that the home welcomes activity and comfort, not just decoration. Even seemingly small details, like a non-matching straw cover for a Stanley cup, reveal the authentic ways people personalize their space to suit their needs rather than adhere to aesthetic trends. This shift away from curated perfection to embracing realities helps reduce stress and social comparison often fueled by social media’s highlight reels. It encourages individuals to find contentment in their unique environments and reminds us that imperfection is a beautiful proof of genuine life lived fully in one’s home. The Era of Non-Aesthetic Home prioritizes comfort, function, and honest representation over style conformity. It invites people to share their true lived experiences without fear of judgement, fostering a community that values authenticity. By recognizing that not every space needs to be magazine-ready, homeowners can create warm, inviting atmospheres that truly reflect who they are. This approach also nurtures mental well-being by normalizing the daily realities of home life and debunking myths of perfect living. It builds resilience against the urge to perform for online validation and encourages meaningful self-expression. Whether it’s a messy nightstand or no laundry done until essentials run out, these authentic moments contribute to a richer, more relatable dialogue about what it means to call a place home. The lived-in home era is a refreshing reminder that real life is the most beautiful form of home decoration.

Lived-In, Loved, and Totally Normal House 🏠
