🩷 1. Romance:
— Fog of Love: roleplay strategy board game, where you and the other player work to form and maintain a connection
— Happy Place by Emily Henry: second chance romance
👻 2. Horror / Suspense:
— Betrayal at House on the hill: a dungeon crawl tile game, where you explore a haunted house and fight evil forces
— House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski: a horror novel, told out of order by an unreliable narrator, about a house that appears to change sizes and holds other mysteries
🦄 3. Fantasy / Comedy:
— Unstable Unicorns: a hilarious, strategic, relationship-destroying, card game. Collect unicorns and use a combination of their powers to hinder the other players’ progress and destroy their unicorns
— Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett: a magical world filled with silly wizards, powerful witches, and a sarcastic and hilarious portrayal of, my favorite character, Death
💀 4. Dark Humor:
— Cards Against Humanity: I doubt I have to tell you what this game is, but let's just say it's the dirty version of Apples to Apples
— Leather and Lark: any book in this dark comedy / romance trilogy fits the bill here! you have serial killers, assassins, etc. who are extremely sarcastic and definitely wind down with a game of CAH
