Immigration laws, deportation and border control

You have every right to your own opinion, and I’m not here to argue, I’m just tired of seeing the negative things said about those who support border control and deportation, as many act as if you do, you are heartless and inhumane.

So if you want to see the view of many who support this, here it is. If you aren’t open to understanding another viewpoint just scroll past.

I don’t support open borders because I lack compassion for other humans, but because of the very real risks that come with illegal entry. When borders aren’t enforced, it creates easier opportunity for human and drug trafficking which has been an ongoing issue. That’s not just an opinion, that’s literally documented by DHS, border agencies, and multiple organizations. I care about children and families, which is why I believe in doing things the legal way. Closed borders would make it much harder to do these things. Maybe not eliminating it totally but HOPEFULLY a significant decrease.

I also believe we have to acknowledge that not everyone crossing illegally is fleeing danger or a better life..there are some that are violent criminals. I think we have seen that at the price of Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, Dominic Durden, Nabra Hassanan, Casey Chadwick, and I’m sure more that didn’t make the media. That doesn’t mean “all immigrants” are criminals, many are not. But ignoring the risks entirely is not benefiting anyone. Every country has immigration laws because the government has a responsibility to PROTECT the citizens.

It’s inconsistent to say that immigration enforcement is “inhumane” while also stating illegals need to be here for jobs “we don’t want” and a labor system where they can be exploited and underpaid. Basically slave work. So contradicing to what the Democratic Party says they stand for.

I absolutely empathize with families who want a better life. Many do. And I do wish there was an easier and faster way for them to legally come to our country, but I also believe that every nation has the right and responsibility to manage the borders and follow the laws. This isn’t about cruelty or hate for immigrants, it’s about safety and protecting the our country and our citizens.

You can support deportation, legal entry, and secure borders while still having empathy for human beings. The media often portrays the enforcement in extreme negative ways, causing more issues, but the truth is that these laws and agencies like ICE have existed with MANY administrations. The recent problems come from how the issue is presented on the media and hate for Trump.

... Read moreFrom my experience engaging with communities affected by immigration policies, I’ve seen that the debate around immigration laws and border control is deeply nuanced. Many people assume that supporting border enforcement means lacking compassion, but that’s not always the case. It’s possible to want secure borders while also caring deeply about the wellbeing of migrants. One aspect often overlooked is how legal immigration pathways can be cumbersome and slow, leaving many desperate to find alternative, illegal routes. Improving and streamlining these legal processes could help reduce illegal crossings and the dangers associated with them. People come to the country seeking safety, better opportunities, and a brighter future for their families—not to break laws or endanger communities. Moreover, the connection between unsecured borders and the increase in human trafficking and drug smuggling is supported by evidence from government agencies like DHS. Addressing these issues is vital to protect vulnerable populations, including children and families. However, framing immigration enforcement as inhumane dismisses the reality that many immigrants themselves want a fair, legal process to come here. I also find it important to recognize that not all illegal border crossers fit one profile; some may have criminal backgrounds, but the majority are hardworking individuals striving for a better life. Balancing enforcement with empathy means policies should differentiate between those who pose a security threat and those who simply seek refuge and opportunities. In conversations about labor, there’s a risk of exploitation when undocumented workers take low-paying jobs. Ensuring fair labor practices alongside immigration enforcement can protect these workers from abuse and uphold human dignity. Overall, immigration, deportation, and border control remain complex topics with no simple answers. Yet, by keeping an open mind, focusing on both security and humanity, and pushing for reforms in legal immigration pathways, we can work toward solutions that respect both the law and human compassion.
