... Read moreDuring our beach cleanup, we encountered firsthand the alarming reality of ocean pollution. Items like phone cases and textile waste, which contain over 7,000 toxic chemicals, break down slowly, releasing microplastics that endanger sea creatures. What looked like a seal was just a floating tree trunk, a reminder of how much debris distorts our view of marine life. One striking moment was coming across a dead animal, likely a victim of trapped waste, underscoring the urgent need for responsible trash disposal. We collected an impressive amount of litter, sharing a fun and impactful challenge among our team that made the day memorable. Seeing two live animals amidst the cleanup inspired us to keep advocating for cleaner oceans. By properly disposing of waste in bins and reducing plastic use, everyone can help safeguard sea creatures and their habitats. I hope this personal experience encourages you to join local cleanup efforts and be mindful of the impact our choices have on ocean health.
