Hey everyone! So, you might have seen my video about shopping for my family of four, and I wanted to dive a bit deeper into something I get asked about all the time: how to make those family shopping trips count, especially when you're looking for value. For me, the secret weapon is often the 'family 4-pack' or other multi-buy deals! When I say 'family 4-pack', I'm not just talking about theme park tickets (though those are great too!). I'm referring to those amazing multi-item bundles you find at the grocery store or warehouse clubs. Think about it: instead of buying one box of cereal, you grab a pack of four. Or maybe it's a four-pack of yogurt, juice boxes, or even a bundle of toiletries. These kinds of deals are a lifesaver for larger households like mine. My strategy usually starts with a list, but I always keep an eye out for these specific bundles. For example, I recently snagged a fantastic four-pack of organic pasta sauce that was significantly cheaper per jar than buying them individually. It was a no-brainer! We use pasta sauce a lot, so having that extra stock meant fewer urgent trips to the store later. Here are my top tips for finding and utilizing 'family 4-pack' style deals: Know Your Staples: What does your family go through quickly? For us, it's things like juice boxes, snack pouches, toilet paper, and certain frozen foods. These are always on my radar for multi-pack deals. Buying these in '4-packs' or similar bundles makes sense because I know they won't go to waste. Check Unit Prices: This is HUGE. Don't just look at the total price of a 4-pack. Divide the total cost by the number of units to get the per-unit price. Sometimes, a smaller individual item on sale can actually be cheaper per unit than a bulk pack. But often, the 4-pack wins! Warehouse Clubs are Your Friend: Places like Costco or Sam's Club are prime territory for family-sized bundles. Their entire business model is built around offering value in larger quantities. While not always a '4-pack' specifically, you'll find equivalent bulk savings. Coupon Match-Ups: Combine store sales with manufacturer coupons for multi-packs. Many coupons offer discounts when you buy two or more of an item, which essentially creates your own 'family pack' deal! Storage Solutions: If you're buying in bulk, make sure you have space to store it. Investing in some pantry organizers or a small deep freezer can pay off quickly when you're saving money on multi-pack purchases. Nothing worse than a great deal going bad because you couldn't store it properly! Don't Overbuy Perishables: While 4-packs are great for non-perishables, be cautious with fresh produce or dairy unless you know your family will consume it before it spoils. For these, smaller, more frequent buys might still be best. Finding those perfect 'family 4-pack' deals truly helps me stretch our grocery budget further and keeps our pantry stocked with essentials. It's all about being strategic and knowing what works for your family's consumption habits. Happy shopping, and let me know if you stumble upon any incredible 4-pack finds!
