My 2026 Journal Ecosystem✨
Ladies and Gents, welcome to my 2026 Journal Ecosystem. Tbh, I never intentionally had an ecosystem, I thought that having a bunch of journals would make my mind go crazy and I would have one journal for everything in my life. Over the last few months after much research and understanding what my life needs in the next year, and honestly falling headfirst into planner/journaltok, I finally have an ecosystem that I’m proud of and excited to jump into for the new year!
Here’s what my Ecosystem compromises of:
1. Hobonichi Techo Cousin as my main planner. This is where I’ll organize all of my life events in three categories: Work, Church, and Personal. This will also have my financial tracking, period log, and anything else that I need to function on a day to day bases. This will also be my memory keeper for the year, with key highlights of each day as I have the worse memory by the end of the year.
2. Midori A5 Grid Notebook for my CommonPlace Notebook - This is where I’ll keep my sermon notes, and personal journal pages, Bible Study notes, and anything else that I find useful to know! This is my first time doing a CommonPlace Notebook and IDK why I haven’t done it before. The organization with the key so i know exactly what that page was just makes so much flipping sense lol.
3. Hobonichi Weeks Mega for my Reading Journal - Yall have seen this already but this will be my reading journal for 2026. I haven’t read much of anything in the past couple of weeks which is okay. I wanted to see what my pattern in regard to reading when things in life get hectic or stressful. I’m also doing weekly recaps because I’m a massive mood reader and often forget when I start books so having a track for when I do will help to understand when and why I drop books, and how long those gaps are 😅I got the mega so i can do my book reviews in the bag as well.
4. Hobonichi Techo Original for my work planner - This little guy is specifically for work. Keeping me on track for important work meetings, deadlines, and a snapshot of the things that happened in the day in case something wild happens and I need to look back on it. I’m also using a Midori lined notebook as an extra To Do and extended Notes hub as well.
That’s it! This year, will be unlike any other year for me. For a long time, it’s felt like life has been happening to me as opposed to me living life. I’m hoping to organize, and set healthy, achievable goals that I can look back on and be proud of. Thank yall for taking the journal with me, and I hope you can find some inspiration when thinking about your own ecosystem 😊😊
See you all in 2026✨
It's so easy to feel overwhelmed by all the amazing journals out there, right? I used to think one journal was enough, or that having multiple would just make things more complicated. But honestly, diving into the world of a "journal ecosystem" has been a game-changer for me, and I want to share why you might love it too! Think of your life as having different 'departments': your personal goals, your work tasks, your creative pursuits, and your learning journey. Trying to cram all of that into a single Daily Planner can quickly lead to clutter and confusion. That's where an ecosystem comes in! Each notebook gets a specialized role, making it easier to focus on one area at a time without getting distracted by everything else. For instance, having a dedicated Work Planner (like my Hobonichi Techo Original) means all my deadlines, meeting notes, and project ideas are in one place. When I'm at work, I only need to open that one book. Then, when I shift to personal time, my main Daily Planner (my Hobonichi Techo Cousin) is there for my financial tracking, appointments, and memory keeping. This separation helps me mentally switch gears and keeps my thoughts organized by context. If you're thinking about creating your own journal ecosystem, here are a few tips I've learned: Identify Your Needs: Before buying anything, sit down and list the main areas of your life that need tracking or reflection. Do you have a lot of work projects? Are you a big reader? Do you want to learn new things or keep spiritual notes? This will help you decide what types of journals you need. Start Simple: You don't need four journals from day one! Maybe start with a main planner and add a Reading Journal or a Commonplace Notebook as you go. See what feels natural and what gaps you find in your current system. Define Roles Clearly: Give each journal a specific purpose. My Commonplace Notebook (Midori A5 Grid) is solely for sermon notes, Bible study, and inspiring ideas. It's not for my daily to-do list, which keeps it focused and useful. Consider Your Flow: How do you move through your day? Do you need a Weekly Planner Spread for an overview, or do you prefer detailed Daily Page Spread entries? My Cousin gives me both, allowing me to see my Monthly Planner Spread for long-term planning and then break it down daily. Don't Be Afraid to Experiment: My ecosystem isn't set in stone for life. I've been experimenting, and what works for me in 2026 might evolve. The key is to find what supports your productivity and well-being. Setting up a journal ecosystem isn't about having more things; it's about having the right things in the right places to help you live a more intentional and organized life. It's been incredibly empowering for me to design a system that truly supports my goals and helps me remember all those precious moments throughout the year. I hope this inspires you to think about how your notebooks can work together for you!

This is so refreshing I love it especially the “church” added in 🤌🏾❤️ great system 🔥
