Ruth-Bible Journaling
Ruth is one of my favorite books not just because it’s like the best Christian love story but because it is a type and shadow of Jesus’ love for us! He is our Kinsmen Redeemer and He chose us🥰
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to do an in depth Bible journaling but this one is my fav🥰
Bible journaling the Book of Ruth offers a unique way to deepen your understanding of this powerful biblical narrative. Ruth’s story is not only a touching tale of loyalty and love between her and Naomi but also a rich spiritual metaphor for Jesus' redeeming love for us all. When I first approached Ruth in my journaling, I focused on her faithfulness, her decision to leave Moab, and her unwavering commitment to Naomi—a testament to true devotion. One of the parts that stood out to me during this process was Ruth 1, where Naomi urges her daughters-in-law to return to their families. Yet Ruth insists on staying, saying, “Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” This moment captures the essence of loyalty and sacrifice, which resonates deeply when reflecting on Christ’s love as our Kinsmen Redeemer who chose us despite our imperfections. In my journaling, I incorporated visually creative elements to reflect this covenant relationship, using symbols like wedding bands to represent Ruth’s bond to Boaz, which parallels Jesus’ covenant with His followers. I also meditated on the theme of provision—how God provided food and hope even in times of famine—connecting it to God’s ongoing provision in our own lives. For those new to Bible journaling or seeking to revisit Ruth, I recommend focusing on the emotional layers: Ruth’s trust, Naomi’s wisdom, and Boaz’s kindness. Write down your personal reflections and how these themes relate to your spiritual journey. Whether drawing or writing, let the story inspire a fresh encounter with God’s love. Remember, Bible journaling isn’t about perfection but about personal connection. Through journaling Ruth’s story, I found renewed hope and a clearer picture of Jesus as our Redeemer who chose us with intentional love. This reflective practice can transform your reading of Scripture into a heartfelt dialogue with God, enriching your faith with creativity and devotion.
