First time cat owner

Hey guys! I’m adopting this boy cat from someone in my area. I’ve never had a cat before so I’m not sure what to expect.

-How much of a can do I feed?

-How do I take care of him when he gets spayed?

-Any tips in general are helpful 🙏🙏#firstcat #adopting #cats🐾

First, feed your cat a proper diet suited to their age and health. Consult a veterinarian to determine the best type of food and portion size. It's essential to know that spaying is not only vital for controlling the cat population but also for your cat’s health. Post-surgery, provide a quiet space for your cat to recover, monitor them for any unusual behavior, and follow your vet’s instructions carefully. In addition to feeding and medical care, consider enriching your cat’s environment with toys and scratching posts, which help with both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Socializing and interacting with your cat will build a strong bond. Finally, don't hesitate to reach out to fellow cat owners for advice, as many are willing to share their experiences to help new owners like you. Joining online communities can provide valuable insights and support on your journey of cat ownership.

Also, your vet office will give you pre and post op instructions for his neutering. Honestly, boy cat neuters are a simple procedure.

Bring the food that the other person has and keep feeding him that food for now because a cat stomach will get upset very easily if the food is changed. Later, you could slowly transition him to a different food, maybe something your veterinarian suggest, but stay with the food he has now.
