Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls 👨🏾🍳🧈
I don't know the last time I made cinnamon rolls from scratch, so I used the recipe on the back of the Kroger Self Rising flour. I wanted to try and make some jumbo cinnamon rolls. They went in as cinnamon rolls and came out looking like coffee cake, but I guarantee they are cinnamon rolls and they taste good!!🤣 If you wanna try the recipe yourself, I'll leave it down below!
Ingredients:
Dough
3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Tbsp group cinnamon
5 Cups Self Rising Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
2 Cups Whole Milk
8 Tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Filling
1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
4 Tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
Glaze
2 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 Cup Whole Milk
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt. Add whole milk, butter and vanilla and fold together until mixture starts to form a ball. Place on floured surface and roll with rolling pin until about ¼" thick.
3. Filling Instructions: In a small mixing bowl, add brown sugar; granulated sugar, cinnamon and melted butter, stir until combined. Once combined, spread an even layer over dough.
4. Starting from one end, start to roll dough over itself as tightly as possible until dough forms a spiral log.
5. Cut into 10-12 equal size rolls. Place in an oven proof dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. (I did five jumbo rolls)
6. While baking, in a small mixing bowl add powdered sugar, milk, salt and vanilla. Whisk together. Once rolls are baked, remove from oven and drizzle icing over top of cinnamon rolls while warm.

Baking jumbo cinnamon rolls at home can be a truly rewarding experience, especially when you use a simple recipe like this one based on Kroger's self-rising flour. From personal experience, using self-rising flour streamlines the process since it already contains baking powder and salt, eliminating the need for yeast and extra rising time. This gives a softer, cake-like texture to the rolls—as you noticed, they came out looking more like coffee cake but with that unmistakable cinnamon roll flavor. One trick I’ve found helpful is to generously sprinkle an extra cinnamon sugar mix both at the bottom of the baking dish and on top of the rolls before baking. This creates a delightful caramelized layer that adds flavor and texture. Rolling the dough as tightly as possible to form a spiral log also helps the rolls maintain their shape and develop layers of gooey cinnamon goodness inside. While the original recipe suggests cutting 10-12 rolls, making 5 jumbo rolls offers a fun twist and is perfect when you want to wow your family or guests with oversized treats. The glaze of powdered sugar, milk, salt, and vanilla brings the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess to finish the rolls. If you want to experiment further, try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the filling or a bit of cream cheese to the glaze for an added layer of flavor. Overall, this recipe is fantastic for anyone who loves a quick, no-yeast cinnamon roll dough that delivers comforting, homemade vibes and a deliciously sweet treat.

This looks like a mix between cinnamon rolls and coffee cake 🥰🥰 I’ll take 6
