Your less touristy Hanoi food guide!!

2/5 Edited to

... Read moreWhen visiting Hanoi, I made it a point to try Bun Bo Nam Bo at Bách Phương after hearing about it from locals and seeing excellent reviews. Unlike some heavier Vietnamese dishes, this bowl is light but packed with complex flavors — the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory. What really stood out to me was how fresh the ingredients tasted and the vibrant herbs that accompanied the dish, enhancing every bite. The portion was just right, leaving me satisfied without feeling overly full. I ended up returning within a few days because it was genuinely one of my favorite meals in Hanoi. For anyone new to Hanoi, I recommend seeking out this spot rather than opting for the more tourist-popular cuisine. The restaurant is modest but the quality is outstanding and prices are very affordable, making it accessible for all travelers. It’s also a great chance to experience authentic local flavors that you might miss in more tourist-heavy areas. If you’re exploring other foods nearby, also consider pairing your Bun Bo Nam Bo with a cup of local Vietnamese coffee from one of the cafes I visited. Their salted coffee and kombucha were surprisingly delightful and gave me a perfect break from exploring the bustling streets. Overall, Bách Phương’s Bun Bo Nam Bo is a memorable and tasty discovery on my food journey in Hanoi, highly recommended for anyone wanting to taste genuine Vietnamese street food culture beyond the usual spots.

Of course, the moment we arrived in Hanoi, we were greeted by the famous traffic jam. After dropping our bags at the hotel, we were super starving. The first stop had to be Vietnamese food. We found a spot in the Old Quarter called Met Vietnamese Restaurant. There are a few branches around Hanoi,

You have to visit this one-star MICHELIN restaurant in Hanoi! Tầm Vị serves amazing Northern Vietnamese food that feels both simple and full of flavor. What I loved most was the ambience - the vintage décor makes you feel like you're stepping back in time to old Hanoi. Great food, cozy vibes,
