Some pictures from my trip to Florabama which is where the two states meet and is called exactly that. It was so cool to be able to be at 2 states at the same time and have the opportunity to explore both individually since they were so close to one another.
My Florabama trip this year was truly a highlight, and I wanted to share more about what makes this unique border area between Florida and Alabama so special! When people ask about 'floribama location' or 'floribama area', they're often referring to the vibrant Gulf Coast region where these two states meet, particularly around Perdido Key. It's an incredible spot where you can literally be in two places at once, and it offers so much more than just a border marker! One of the first things you'll want to explore are the 'floribama beaches'. I was absolutely stunned by the pristine white sands and clear blue waters. Opal Beach in Midway, FL, was a serene paradise – perfect for a relaxing day away from the crowds. Then there's the iconic Pensacola Beach, easily recognizable by its famous water tower, which offers a lively atmosphere with plenty of amenities and vibrant beachfront activities. Just across the state line in Alabama, Orange Beach, AL, and the Sanroc Cay Marina were fantastic for enjoying the coastal vibe, watching boats sail by, and soaking in the sun. Each beach has its own unique charm, so I highly recommend trying to visit a few during your stay! Beyond the sand, there are so many 'things to do in Florabama'! For wildlife lovers like me, spotting alligators in their natural habitat was a thrilling experience – just remember to observe from a safe distance and never feed them! I even had the chance to visit a place where you could hold a baby alligator, which was an unforgettable moment and a great photo opportunity. If you're looking for some indoor fun, there are some fantastic arcades that offer a nostalgic escape, perfect for evenings or a rainy day. I stumbled upon one with cool games and a really fun atmosphere. And let's not forget the food! A 'floribama vacation' isn't complete without indulging in some local flavors. I started my mornings with delicious pancakes loaded with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, paired with a cozy hot chocolate – perfect for fueling up before a day of exploration. You’ll find everything from fresh seafood shacks serving up the day's catch to charming cafes that offer hearty breakfasts and sweet treats. Don't be afraid to ask locals for their favorite spots! What I loved most about the 'floribama area' is how easy it is to hop between states and experience different attractions. One minute you're enjoying Florida's hospitality and attractions, the next you're discovering Alabama's hidden gems. It truly makes for a dynamic and varied vacation experience. If you're planning your own 'Florabama vacation', definitely look into staying near the border so you can easily access all the fantastic sights and activities both states have to offer. It’s an adventure you won’t forget!
