The Enchanting Eclipse
This book is everything to me which I’m sure that’s how other authors feel about theirs as well. But my book… it’s different. It is inspired by my journey of escaping abusive situations, and what had led me to become a stripper in Great Falls, Montana. During that time, I faced the reality of having to become sober from alcohol and find my footing in a world that I thought was against me. It was there that I met my husband of ten years and several fellow dancers who pushed me to become what I am now. They helped become a better version of myself, one who learned to love herself and allow others to love her in return.
I used this book to heal this version of myself. I created a fictional book. Since its publication, I have been sought out by other dancers from my time at the Playground Lounge (The Strip Club), asking me to tell their stories. What began as a standalone book has evolved into a series called The Playground Testimonials, in which I will share the stories of other dancers who have fought their way out of some dark situations. Some of these stories will be shared anonymously, while others will bear the names of the brave individuals who came forward with their story.
This series is incredibly special to me. It offers healing not just for myself but for others who have experienced similar struggles. I aim to change lives and perspectives through these narratives. I just want to turn something that was so painful and so dark into something beautiful.
You know, when I first started writing 'The Enchanting Eclipse,' it wasn't just about crafting a story. It was about survival, about making sense of everything I'd lived through, and ultimately, about finding my voice. It's truly my heart laid bare on those pages, a testament to the power of healing through storytelling. There were so many moments where I felt completely lost, like the world was against me. The journey from escaping abusive situations, navigating life as a stripper in Great Falls, Montana, and then battling sobriety – it was a whirlwind of challenges. Writing became my lifeline, a way to process the pain and transform those experiences into something meaningful. It sounds dramatic, I know, but transforming those dark experiences into something beautiful, something enchanting, felt like a miracle. That's why the title means so much to me. It's about finding light even when you feel completely overshadowed, like a 'blue moon' moment, rare and significant. Meeting those fellow dancers at The Playground Lounge, seeing their resilience, it lit a fire in me. They pushed me to see my worth, to love myself, and finally, to allow others to love me in return. Their stories, like mine, are intertwined with strength and vulnerability. That's why 'The Playground Testimonials' series became so vital. It’s no longer just my story; it’s a mosaic of incredible women who've faced their own battles and found their own light. Each narrative is a powerful reminder that even from the darkest places, we can rise. Holding the finished book, seeing that 'dark cover' with the 'woman's silhouette,' it really captures the essence of what I wanted to convey. It's about stepping out of the shadows and embracing one's true self. I often see it displayed, perhaps on an 'orange crocheted surface' or next to a 'moon-themed paper decoration,' and it always reminds me how far this journey has come – from a personal healing project to something that resonates with others. As a 'Local Author,' connecting with readers and hearing how my book has touched them is the most rewarding part. It's proof that sharing our truths, no matter how difficult, can truly change perspectives and offer a sense of camaraderie. My sincere hope is that when you pick up 'The Enchanting Eclipse,' you don't just read a story; you find a piece of yourself in it. You realize that your past doesn't define your future, and that healing is possible, even from the deepest wounds. This series isn't just about the past; it's about building a future where everyone feels empowered to tell their story and find their own version of an 'enchanting eclipse' – that moment where light breaks through the darkest night.
