Engagement Ring Try On?!

Hi friends!!

The idea of being proposed to soon came up so I panicked and ordered a try on kit from Frank Darling so I could make sure the ring I have been dreaming of (an emerald cut solitaire) was everything I wanted and more. But now I don’t know!!! I ordered an emerald, marquise and asscher cut for my first three to try on. Let me know y’all’s opinions!! I need them!!! :)#engagementrings #helpmechoose

... Read moreOkay, friends, since so many of you are weighing in on my ring dilemma, I wanted to share a bit more about this whole try-on experience and what I've been thinking! It’s seriously a game-changer if you’re unsure about styles. I’d been dreaming of an emerald cut stone for ages, but seeing it on my hand alongside others has been so eye-opening. What feels right in your head might be totally different once you actually see it on your finger! When you're trying on different cuts, it's not just about what looks good in pictures. It's about how it feels, how it catches the light, and how it really suits your hand shape. For example, the emerald cut stone is so incredibly elegant and classic, known for its sophisticated, understated sparkle with those beautiful step-cut facets. I've noticed it can look quite different depending on the setting – a simple solitaire really lets the cut shine, but a halo can add extra sparkle. It’s a timeless choice that exudes sophistication. Then there’s the marquise cut stone – totally different vibe! Its elongated shape can magically make your fingers look longer and more slender, which I absolutely love. It has more sparkle than the emerald cut, and it feels a bit more daring and unique. I tried on a beautiful gold ring with a marquise cut, and it really made a statement on my hand. This cut is definitely for someone who wants something a little less traditional, perhaps with a touch of vintage flair. And finally, the asscher cut stone! This one has such a distinctive, almost art-deco feel. It’s essentially a square emerald cut but with more facets, creating that incredible ‘hall of mirrors’ effect that’s absolutely mesmerizing. It’s very bold, geometric, and truly unique. When I put on the gold ring with the asscher cut, it felt incredibly luxurious and gave off such a strong vintage-inspired vibe. It's definitely a conversation starter! My biggest takeaway from this try-on kit experience is that pictures don’t always do justice. You really need to see these styles on your own hand, in different lighting conditions (natural light, indoor light!), and even with your everyday outfits to get a true feel. Don't forget to consider your lifestyle too – are you super active, or do you work with your hands a lot? Some cuts, particularly those with pointed ends like the marquise, might be more prone to snagging or chipping than others, though good settings can mitigate this. Also, think about what kind of wedding band you might want to pair with it eventually! Does it sit flush? Does it complement the style? This whole process has been such an emotional rollercoaster, from the excitement of the idea of being proposed to soon, to the fun of trying on these gorgeous rings, and now the challenge of making the decision! It’s a huge symbol, after all. I’m still leaning, but getting all your fantastic input has been invaluable. Seriously, every comment helps me narrow it down and feel more confident in what will be on my finger forever. Thank you all for being part of this exciting journey!
