The history of Ise Jingu is deeply connected with Japanese mythology.
It is said that Amaterasu Omikami sent Tenson, Kiyoki no Mikoto, to the earth, and Sarutahiko Omikami led the way.
Eventually, Yamatohime no Mikoto, the princess of the 11th Emperor Suinin, traveled around various places in search of a place to forever enshrine Amaterasu Omikami.
When they arrived at Ise, they were guided by Ota no Mikoto, a descendant of Sarutahiko Okami, and enshrined Amaterasu Omikami above the Isuzu River.
This leads to the Imperial Grand Shrine and Naiku.
It is said that about 500 years later, during the era of Emperor Yuryaku, Toyouke Omikami was welcomed from Tanba to Ise and enshrined at Toyouke Daijingu Shrine and Geku.
After that, Ise faith spread all over the country, and in the Edo period, many common people aimed for Ise, saying "I will visit Ise once in a lifetime."
And until now, rituals and traditions such as Shikinen Sengu have been handed down.

Amaterasu Omikami
A god enshrined in the Imperial Grand Shrine and Naiku. It is a god that can be compared to the sun representing Japanese mythology.
・ Tenufume no Mikoto
A god that is said to have danced in front of Amanoiwato. In Tenson Korin, it is deeply related to Sarutahiko Okami.
・ Heavenly power man god
In the Amanoiwato Mythology, it is a god who is said to have opened the Iwato when Amaterasu Omikami appeared.
・ Qiong Qiong
Grandson of Amaterasu Omikami. It is said that it descended to the earth by the advent of Amaterasu Omikami.
・ Sarutahiko Okami
The god of "Michihiraki" who led the advent of the grandson of Qiong Qiong. It also has a deep connection with Ise.
・ Yamatohime no Mikoto
A princess of Emperor Suinin. It is said that she traveled around various places in search of a place to enshrine Amaterasu Omikami and led her to Ise.
・ Ota no Mikoto
He is said to be a descendant of Sarutahiko Okami and recommended the land above the Isuzu River to Yamatohime no Mikoto.
Toyouke Omikami
It is a deity of Toyouke Daijingu Shrine and Geku Shrine. It is said to be a god who governs meals as a deity of Amaterasu Omikami.
Emperor Yuryaku
It is the 21st Emperor who is said to have welcomed Toyouke Omikami from Tamba to Ise.

The biggest attraction of Ise Jingu is the sacred space where the prayer that has been handed down for about 2,000 years and the nature of Japan are united.
Isuzu River, Uji Bridge, the approach surrounded by huge cedar trees, and the shrine building of Shinmei-zukuri that makes use of the raw wood of cypress.
Different from the ornate decoration, you can see the simple and beautiful architectural beauty of ancient Japan.
Amaterasu Omikami in the Naiku Shrine, Toyouke Omikami in the Geku Shrine, Tsukuyomi-gu Shrine, and many other Betsugu Shrines are located here.
Ise is also home to Sarutahiko Shrine, dedicated to Sarutahiko Okami, the god of the path.
