Healing Endometriosis while TTC 🌸

My endometriosis journey started February 2022, and now 2 years later after so much pain, tears, ER visits, and research, I finally gotten the relief I thought wasn’t achievable when I was in the thick of it. All without a reproductive endocrinologist (though I do see my first one next week), but literally following a regime through one of the best medical offices I’ve been to, Natural Harmony Reproductive Health in San Diego💞

My endometriosis presented as: unable to use tampons or discs, bowel issues and pain with BM, severe abdominal pain and stretching, pain with sex, hormonal acne, spotting during ovulation and in luetal phase, heavy bleeding and giant blood clots, and nausea. I also have a retroverted uterus and endometriomas present on both ovaries, size 3 cm and smaller.

Below is what helped me achieve a 3-4 day cycle with light-medium flow, minimal cramps, normal bowels, no hot flashes, restful sleep, and no emotional irritability. My period are now “normal days” while I shed my uterine lining 😭🎉

🤍 Acupuncture - I went weekly for 3 months. Currently, I got 2x a month. I go to an acupuncture practice that is focused on reproductive health and fertility, as we are TTC.

🤍 Stress and Cortisol - Anxiety and emotional fluctuations have been friends of mine for the past few years, but once I was able to manage it, sooo much relief in my mind and throughout my body. If you can relate, try Magnesium glycinate for this in particular 🫶🏾

🤍 Supplements- For me in particular, my supreme regime has been: Evening primrose oil, Myo-Inositol, Prenatal, Vitamin C, NA-C, CoQ10, Magnesium glycinate, probiotic + Hormone Detox and Milk Thistle for my estrogen dominance (Endometriosis thrives off of estrogen. So too much in general is bad, but those with endo can experience the pain multiplied, as well as severe PMS or even PMDD)

🤍 Pain meds - I had to stop taking ibuprofen and switch to Naproxen. Ibuprofen made me hemorrhage and bleed rapidly, which was also excruciating in my stomach. Naproxen targets any actual period related pelvic pain I may have. I also use Cramp bark, a holistic pain killer for periods.

🤍 Yoga and meditation - Restoring your wellness is a whole health approach. Moving our bodies and having a sense of peace is so important. I particularly like the Fertility of the Soul channel on Youtube and restorative yoga movement.

🤍 Diet - Honestly, I didn’t change up my diet too much as I generally eat okay. BUT I did consume more probiotics, cruciferous vegetables, water, teas, fiber and protein per my doctors instructions. Consuming more organic foods than “regular” does help reducing excess exposure to processed foods with additives and hormones.

….Now, I am finally feeling confident to continue TTC with all of the hope in the world because I healed my body from the inside out. We are currently on month 4 of TTC, and I have a great feeling it will be a BFP soon 💕 I encountered so many roadblocks in Western medicine, and glad I took the leap of faith to go the holistic route. It was not easy to keep faith nor was it cheap, but it did pay off. I also realize how blessed I am, as I know it can take decades to be diagnosed. This is why I wanted to share, to help us all overcome this difficult disorder. If you’ve read this far, I’m rooting for you and thank you. Please share your story or any questions or comments below 👂🏾

P.S. - try a yoni steam monthly! You can do this at home or go to someone who specializes in them and can create a blend for you🌸

... Read moreEndometriosis can profoundly impact fertility, but various holistic approaches can mitigate symptoms. Recent studies highlight the effectiveness of acupuncture in reducing pelvic pain and regulating menstrual cycles. Additionally, supplements such as Myo-Inositol and Evening Primrose Oil may support hormonal balance. It's essential to manage stress, as cortisol levels can exacerbate symptoms; practices like yoga and meditation are beneficial for both mental and physical health. Diet plays a crucial role too; increasing intake of anti-inflammatory foods, such as leafy greens and omega-3 fatty acids, may alleviate symptoms. Staying hydrated and considering a diet rich in probiotics can improve gut health, which is vital due to the gut's role in hormone regulation. Lastly, the importance of community support cannot be overlooked—connecting with others on a similar journey empowers individuals and provides valuable insights.
