When we first met her at the humane society, she was just a timid 8-month-old pup, a beautiful black dog with such soulful eyes. It’s amazing to think how far she's come. She quickly settled into our routines, and her true bubbly personality started to shine through. One of her biggest joys is definitely traveling. She’s become our perfect road trip companion, always eager to hop into the car. We have a special dog car seat for her where she can comfortably look out the window, often with a white curly-haired friend beside her! Her happy face, with her tongue often out, is a common sight whether she's running in a green park or sitting patiently in a sunny grassy field with her harness on. Yoko's love for the outdoors is infectious. Hiking is a favorite, and she absolutely thrives on exploring new trails. And water? Forget about it! Give her a lake or a beach, and she’s in her element, swimming with such enthusiasm. Although, I must admit, her passion for 'destroying sticks' is a close second! It’s her way of playing, and honestly, it’s quite entertaining to watch her focused close-up, teeth and tongue working hard. But it's not all high-energy adventures. Yoko is also a master napper. You can often find her sound asleep on her favorite black cushion, sometimes right next to me while I'm working on my laptop. She’s also a big fan of comfort, and will happily sit upright on a light-colored armchair, looking directly at you with a calm, gentle expression. And of course, nothing beats a good tummy rub. She’ll flip onto her back on the couch, letting us gently scratch her belly – pure bliss for her! We love to spoil her a little with her favorite treats. Salmon is a definite winner in her book, and a pup cup from our local coffee shop is always a special occasion. We've introduced her to so many dog parks, and it’s wonderful to see her socialize and run around freely. Her journey from a rescue to such a confident, loving companion has been incredible. She really is the sweetest girl, and every day with her is an adventure. If you're thinking about rescuing a pet, I can't recommend it enough. The love and joy they bring into your life are immeasurable, and moments like her adorable close-ups just melt your heart.
