My Fall Read/TBR list

🍁Lock Every Door by Riley Sager- “The book is about Jules Larsen, an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, a mysterious and prestigious building in New York City. The job has three rules: no visitors, no nights away from the apartment, and no disturbing the other residents”

This is a fast read and the last 60ish pages you won’t want to put down. I feel like I usually and able to pick up on plot twists but I did not see the ending coming.

🍁The September House by Carissa Orlando-

“The book is about Margaret and Hal Hartman, who buy a Victorian house on Hawthorn Street. Every September, the house tests the couple with "shenanigans". The walls drip blood, ghosts appear, and the ghosts are afraid of something in the basement. Margaret is determined to stay in the house, even though most people would flee.”

I was initially skeptical about this one. It is very front loaded with spooky characters and I was confused as the how it would get scarier but I was mistaken. It took a little bit longer to get into than Lock Every Door (which I read just before this one) but was worth the read. Definitely spooky haunted house vibes here.

🍁Weyward by Emilia Hart

This one is on my TBR! It intertwines the stories of three different women across five centuries. I don’t usually read historical fiction but I am here for the witchy vibe.

🍁The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix

“Fried Green tomatoes and Steel Magnolias meet Dracula in this southern-flavored supernatural thriller set in the 90s. A women’s book club that must protect their suburban community from a handsome stranger that turns out to be a blood sucking fiend.”

I grew up with my mom watching fried green tomatoes and steel magnolias all the time so I’m excited about this one. It was sort of an impulse buy at the store but honestly I don’t regret it.

🎃If you’ve read Weyward or the Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires let me know which one I should start with!
