For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16 during our prayer call this morning our Bishop talked about not ashamed of God and the things the Lord has brought you out of! The things (your testimony) will be light for someone else who has went through or going through those things or something similar. Never be afraid to share your testimony! He also shared that the enemy will try to keep you silent. #jesusloveyou

... Read moreIt’s easy to read Romans 1:16 – 'For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes' – and simply acknowledge it as a foundational truth. But what does it truly mean for us, in our everyday lives, that the gospel is the 'power of God for salvation'? I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately, especially after a recent prayer call where our Bishop reminded us how vital it is to understand this power in a personal way.
For me, this verse isn't just about a future promise of heaven; it’s about a present reality. The gospel isn't just information; it's an active, transformative force. It’s the power that pulled me out of situations I thought were impossible to escape. This is where my own 'story or testimony' becomes so powerful, and why I’ve learned to be truly not ashamed of it. It's easy to want to hide the messy parts of our past, the struggles, the times we've stumbled. But those very experiences, once touched by God's grace, become the living proof of His saving power.
Think about it: when we share what the Lord has brought us out of, we’re not just telling a story; we're actively demonstrating the 'power of God for salvation' at work. It’s a light that can enlighten others who might be going through similar dark times. Someone else needs to hear that freedom is possible, that healing is not just a dream. My journey, your journey – when shared – becomes a beacon of hope, showing that God’s power is real, tangible, and accessible.
I've personally found immense freedom in embracing my testimony. For so long, the enemy tried to keep me silent, whispering doubts and shame, making me believe my past disqualified me. But when I chose to speak up, when I chose to let my story be heard, it broke chains within me. There's a daily healing that comes from acknowledging God's hand in every chapter of my life, even the difficult ones. It’s a process, not a sudden fix, but each time I recall where I was and where I am now, I experience that saving power anew.
So, if you’ve been feeling hesitant to share your journey, remember Romans 1:16. Your testimony isn't just about you; it's a testament to the gospel's power. It’s a living, breathing example of God’s ability to save, transform, and restore. Don't let anything silence the powerful story God is writing through your life. Start by reflecting on what He has done for you, big or small. You might be surprised how much light your story can bring to someone else seeking their own path to salvation and freedom.
