Homemade chocolate syrup
My kid literally wakes up wanting chocolate milk. So why not make her some homemade syrup that dosent have all the terrible ingredients store bought syrups have! And it taste just like the store bought.!
1 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup of water
Stir till all combined then bring to a boil.
Once boiling turn the heat down and let it simmer for 4 minutes. Make sure you stir the whole time because the chocolate will burn.
After the 4 minutes are up remove from heat and mix in 2 tsp of vanilla. Then let cool completely before pouring into a jar.

Making your own chocolate syrup at home is a great way to control the ingredients and ensure a natural, healthier treat for your family. Unlike many store-bought syrups, which often contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and preservatives, homemade chocolate syrup contains just a few simple ingredients—cocoa powder, sugar, water, and vanilla extract. To enhance the flavor, use unsweetened cocoa powder, which is rich in antioxidants and delivers a deep chocolate taste. Organic sugar or alternatives like coconut sugar can be used to reduce refined sugar intake. Adding pure vanilla extract not only enhances flavor but adds a delightful aroma. This syrup is versatile and can be used beyond chocolate milk—from drizzling over ice cream and pancakes to mixing into coffee or baking recipes. When preparing, simmering the mixture gently and stirring constantly prevents burning and ensures a smooth, glossy syrup. Storing your homemade chocolate syrup in a clean, airtight jar in the refrigerator will keep it fresh for up to two weeks. Before use, give it a quick stir or warm it slightly, as the syrup may thicken when chilled. By making chocolate syrup at home, you avoid the added chemicals and preservatives common in commercial options, providing a wholesome and customizable addition to your kitchen. This simple recipe also encourages healthier habits for kids and adults alike, with the satisfaction of a DIY treat made with care.
