หลายคนที่ค้นหา The Conjuring / The Conjuring 1 / The Conjuring ภาค 1 มักอยากรู้ว่า “น่ากลัวจริงไหม ดูสนุกไหม ควรเริ่มจากภาคไหน” สำหรับเรา ภาคแรกคือจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดูง่ายและทำให้เข้าใจโทนจักรวาลนี้ได้ดีที่สุดเลย เพราะมันไม่ได้พยายามเล่นใหญ่เกินจำเป็น แต่เน้นความ “หลอนเรียล” แบบค่อยๆ กดอารมณ์คนดูให้ตึงขึ้นเรื่อยๆ สิ่งที่ชอบมากคือบรรยากาศทั้งเรื่องทำให้รู้สึกอึดอัดตลอดเวลา แม้บางฉากแทบไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้น แต่แค่การจัดแสง เสียงเงียบๆ และจังหวะการตัดต่อก็พาให้เราระแวงได้แล้ว ฟีลมันประมาณ “น้อยแต่มาก เรียบแต่โก้” จริงๆ คือไม่ต้องพึ่งเลือดสาดก็หลอนได้ และมีฉากที่ใช้พื้นที่ในบ้าน (ทางเดิน ห้องใต้ดิน ห้องเด็ก) ได้คุ้มมาก เหมือนพาเราเดินสำรวจความกลัวไปพร้อมตัวละคร อีกจุดที่ทำให้ภาคนี้เด่นคือความเป็นปีศาจวิทยา/การปราบผีที่ดูมีขั้นตอน มีเหตุผล มีข้อจำกัด ไม่ใช่แค่ตะโกนสวดมนต์แล้วจบ พอมันมี “กฎ” ของมันเอง เราจะรู้สึกว่าเรื่องมีชั้นเชิงและน่าเชื่อขึ้น เวลาเหตุการณ์แรงขึ้นเราจะยิ่งอิน เพราะเหมือนเห็นว่าตัวละครพยายามแก้ปัญหาตามวิธีที่ถูกต้องแล้วแต่ยังเอาไม่อยู่ เรื่องจั๊มสแกร์มีแน่นอน แต่โดยรวมไม่ได้ใส่รัวๆ บางจุดเดาได้บ้าง (ใครดูหนังสยองขวัญบ่อยน่าจะจับทางทัน) แต่ข้อดีคือถึงเดาได้ มันยัง “บิ้ว” ให้เรากลัวก่อนอยู่ดี เหมือนเรารู้ว่าจะโดน แต่ก็ยังเผลอสะดุ้ง เพราะบรรยากาศพาไป ถ้าคุณกำลังลังเลว่าจะดู The Conjuring 1 ดีไหม เราว่าเหมาะมากสำหรับคนที่ชอบหนังผีที่เล่าเป็นเส้นตรง ดูเพลิน เข้าใจง่าย แต่คุณภาพงานทำถึง ทั้งการแสดงและการกำกับ โดยเฉพาะถ้าชอบแนวบ้านผีสิง + ความสยองแบบกดดัน ไม่ต้องมีความแปลกใหม่มากก็สนุกได้ ภาคนี้คือ “ของโคตรดี” ที่ดูแล้วเข้าใจเลยว่าทำไมถึงกลายเป็นหนังสยองขวัญที่คนพูดถึงไม่หยุด
