Doi Tao in Memory: When True Happiness...No need to be rich.

The word "Doi boy" for many may sound like a joke, but for me, it was all my identity and real life that I grew up in. I was a Doi Tao boy...Doi, which means really high mountains, where it is surrounded by nature, forests, and lifestyles far from the civilization of big cities.

Looking at the point of material stability, my house was not rich at all, but it was even poor. In the small house where I lived with my grandmother, we lived a simple life, ate boiled vegetables, relied on the nature around me. Money may have been limited in our family, but surprisingly, it was...Those limits never limited my happiness.

During my time living on Doi Tao, I can't remember what the fatigue, disappointment or stress that adults looked like. Each day, I lived like a child who played, learned and grew up in a beautiful environment - the morning fog, the laughter of my grandmother and the embrace of the mountains - and it was a strange pure and full happiness.

In retrospect, while the outside world was busy pursuing riches and success, this Doi Tao child learned the greatest lesson in life since that day...The lesson says, "True happiness is measured not at the value of things, but at the peace of mind."
