How to crochet your own keychain wristlet

I tried to keep this pattern simple so if you want a video pattern lmk!

This 15 minute project is perfect for an easy gift so if you need a last minute project, try this keychain wristlet. It’s great for scrap yarn because it doesn’t use much yarn! You don’t need a D ring if you don’t have any, you could also use a regular keychain ring and just crochet over it the same way. If you have any questions let me know!

What do you think of this project? Will you try it? Do you have any other quick gift ideas?

... Read moreIf you're looking for a quick and easy crochet project that is both functional and fashionable, making your own keychain wristlet is a perfect choice. This project is ideal for using up leftover yarn and can be completed in just about 15 minutes, making it great for last-minute gifts or simple accessories. The pattern uses basic crochet stitches like single crochet (sc), half-double crochet (hdc), and slip stitches (slst), which makes it approachable for beginners but still enjoyable for experienced crocheters. You can customize your keychain wristlet by choosing different yarn colors; the original tutorial suggests using two skeins in white and rose for a delicate look. A key part of this accessory is the D ring, which forms the wristlet’s attachment point. If you don’t have a D ring, no worries—a regular keychain ring works just as well. You can crochet over it to secure it in place, which adds a creative handmade touch. For tools, you’ll need a crochet hook approximately 4.5mm in size and a pair of scissors for trimming yarn ends neatly. Starting with chaining 40 stitches, the pattern guides you through half double crochet stitches along the chain, turning your work to create a sturdy band. The keychain ring is then cleverly attached by slip stitching around both the crochet stitches and the ring itself to keep it secure. This project lends itself well to creativity—you can experiment with yarn textures, colors, and even add beads or charms for extra flair. Plus, since it uses just a small amount of yarn, it’s perfect for those bits leftover from other projects. Whether for personal use or gifting, crochet keychain wristlets are a fun and practical accessory, combining the joy of crafting with everyday utility. Sharing your finished projects within crochet communities or social media can also inspire others and connect you with fellow crafters.
