Rainbow chair cover crochet pattern 🌈

This is the written pattern for my crochet rainbow chair cover! A video tutorial is available on my YouTube: Karafty

This pattern has to be 2 parts because I couldn’t get all of it to fit for the 10 photos that I’m allowed. I do think that if you start this project today, you probably won’t be ready for the clouds for a while anyways lol it’s definitely a longer project!

I made this project to hang over the back of my living room chair, but it does fit my computer chair well too. I have the clouds hanging over the front in the photo and they can also hang over the back of the chair if you wanted and then tuck in some of the rainbow to keep it in place. This pattern can also be used as a lap blanket so there’s definitely more than one use for this project!

If you decide to make your own, I’d love to see it! Tag me in your posts or you can always send a pic to me😊

... Read moreCreating this rainbow chair cover is a fantastic way to add a splash of color and personality to your space. From my experience, breaking the project into parts made it manageable and less overwhelming. The use of various stitches—single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), half double crochet (hdc), and front post double crochet (fpdc)—adds texture and depth to the final piece. One tip is to use high-quality yarn in bright colors like pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple to make your rainbow truly pop. Switching yarn colors at the end of row 10 ensures clean color transitions. Additionally, working stitches into the front loops only (FLO) or the farthest back loops as described can create interesting stitch patterns that enhance the cover’s look. While this project took longer than expected because of the detailed cloud elements and layering, it’s worth the effort, especially if you enjoy relaxing with your crafting. The pattern is flexible: besides using it as a chair cover, you can turn it into a cozy lap blanket—perfect for chilly evenings. I recommend watching the accompanying video tutorial for visual guidance, especially for the cloud sections and sewing in part 2. Sharing your finished projects on social media not only celebrates your work but connects you with a community of crochet enthusiasts who can offer tips and inspiration. Overall, this rainbow chair cover pattern is a fun and rewarding project for anyone eager to learn crochet or expand their skills with colorful and functional designs.
