Motherhood Perspective

Sometimes the hardest moments of motherhood look completely different through their eyes. 🤎

The sleepless nights. The contact naps. The constant feeding. The days when you feel touched out and wonder if you accomplished anything at all.

To us, they can feel exhausting. To them, we are comfort. Warmth. Safety. Home.

Sometimes all it takes is a little perspective to remember that these ordinary, overwhelming moments are the ones they feel most loved in. 🥹

... Read moreMotherhood is a journey filled with both joy and challenges, and sometimes, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the day-to-day demands of caring for a newborn. From personal experience, the countless nights of waking up to feed, the long hours spent holding a tiny being who refuses to be put down, and the feeling of being constantly 'touched out' can truly test a mother's patience and energy. However, understanding that these moments are deeply significant to our babies brings a fresh perspective. When my baby kept waking up all night, I realized it wasn’t just her needs but a sign of trust and comfort she found in my presence. The simple act of being there, warm and close, became a source of safety for her. Contact naps, though exhausting, proved to be some of the most precious bonding times. The rhythm of her breathing, feeling her small hands grip my skin, and the sound of her heartbeat reminded me that these vulnerable, seemingly mundane moments are foundational for her sense of security. They are not just tiring episodes but the building blocks of love and attachment. The images and reflections shared, like “She won’t let me put her down today” and “I get to fall asleep warm, full, and safe,” resonate deeply. They reveal two sides of the same experience—the baby seeking comfort and the mother finding fulfillment despite exhaustion. Embracing this perspective, I learned to celebrate the small victories in motherhood and focus on the profound connection being created. For all new and postpartum moms, remember that the overwhelming feelings you experience are part of a larger emotional landscape shared by many. There is immense beauty in these ordinary moments; they are what make motherhood uniquely powerful and rewarding.
