Strawberries 🍓 & Spice 🌶️ and Everything Nice!

Yes this is another Mafia love story but way better than the All He’ll Every Be! Given I rated All He’ll Ever Be as 5 stars it goes without saying this book is also going to be a 5 star rating. The love story between Callum and Aida in this book definitely took the cake right from Carter and Aria. This book is way more playful and lighthearted as it didn’t focus so much on abuse and that dark sides of the mafia world. Something I appreciate more in Carter and Aria’s story is that they definitely immersed you fully into the mobster world and in which Brutal Prince lacked BUT the love story behind Callum and Aida is so much cuter and the touch of strawberries being the cover of the book mislead you to believe it’s a sweet innocent love story but it’s definitely far from it. Spice level is definitely at 5 which you should always expect with a mafia love story. This book really did it for me and has me on the hunt for my next mafia love story. I enjoyed how this book was under 300 pages and is a stand alone because it did exact what it needed to do and ended beautifully.

... Read moreAfter diving headfirst into the world of 'Brutal Prince' by Sophie Lark, I completely understand why it's dominating searches for 'aesthetic mafia romance.' This book isn't just another dark tale of the underworld; it truly offers a unique blend of intrigue, passion, and undeniable charm that sets it apart. When I hear "mafia romance," my mind often jumps to gritty, intense narratives, and while 'Brutal Prince' certainly has its moments of darkness, what impressed me most was its unexpected aesthetic. Sophie Lark masterfully weaves a story that feels both opulent and dangerous, without getting bogged down in excessive violence or despair. It’s a sophisticated kind of brutal, where the power struggles and family loyalties provide a thrilling backdrop to a love story that truly shines. The dynamic between Callum and Aida is less about toxic obsession and more about a fiery, playful connection that blossoms amidst the chaos. I found myself genuinely rooting for them, enjoying their banter and the genuine affection that develops. This lighter touch on the mafia world makes it incredibly accessible and enjoyable, even if you’re new to the genre. And let's talk about the 'spice'—it’s definitely a level 5! For those of you wondering, this means the intimate scenes are explicit, frequent, and integral to the characters' journey and chemistry. They're not just thrown in for shock value; they genuinely enhance the passionate connection between Callum and Aida, showcasing their growing bond and undeniable attraction. It’s written with a confidence that makes these scenes feel natural and exciting, rather than gratuitous. If you appreciate a romance that doesn't shy away from intimacy, you’ll be in for a treat. One of the most intriguing elements, as highlighted by the book's visual presentation (and my flat lay review!), is the stark contrast between the innocent-looking strawberry cover and the very adult content within. This 'strawberry deception' is genius! It playfully misleads you, setting up an expectation of a sweet, gentle read, only for you to plunge into a world of high stakes, intense emotions, and undeniable heat. It’s a clever metaphor for Aida and Callum's relationship itself—initially seemingly mismatched, but ultimately a perfect, delicious combination of sweet and spicy. This aesthetic choice truly elevates the overall experience, making the book memorable long after you've turned the last page. What I also adored about 'Brutal Prince' is that it’s a standalone novel, clocking in at under 300 pages. In a genre often filled with sprawling series, it’s incredibly refreshing to pick up a book and know you'll get a complete, satisfying story without having to commit to multiple installments. It allowed me to fully immerse myself in Callum and Aida’s world, experience their journey, and feel utterly content with their ending, all within a compact and perfectly paced narrative. It does exactly what it needs to do, telling a full, rich story without any unnecessary filler. If you’re on the hunt for a mafia romance that delivers on passion, a compelling plot, and a surprisingly delightful aesthetic, you absolutely need to add 'Brutal Prince' to your TBR list. It’s a 5/5 read that will leave you craving more of Sophie Lark’s unique storytelling, and perhaps, your own spicy mafia love story.
