... Read moreI've been fortunate enough to have TRAVELED TO 20 different STATES I'VE visited across the United States, but if you ask me, the charm and hospitality of the South are truly unmatched! My favorite experiences often lead me back to this vibrant region. For anyone wondering "Where should I go next?" or looking for an unforgettable trip, let me share a bit more about why Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and even the vastness of Texas have captured my heart. Kentucky, for instance, is far more than just bourbon and horses, though those are certainly highlights! I adored exploring the rolling bluegrass hills and experiencing the warmth of its communities. The Bourbon Trail is an absolute must-do for adults, offering a unique blend of history and craftsmanship. Beyond that, the state parks are stunning, and the culinary scene is surprisingly diverse. Then there's Tennessee, a state that truly sings to your soul. Nashville, of course, is the heart of country music, and I loved soaking in the live music scene on Broadway. But don't overlook Memphis for its rich history in blues and rock 'n' roll, or the breathtaking beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hiking through those misty peaks was an experience I'll never forget. Georgia offers a beautiful blend of antebellum charm and modern vibrancy. Savannah's historic district is like stepping back in time, with its cobblestone streets and stunning architecture – perfect for a leisurely stroll. Atlanta provides a bustling city experience with incredible food, museums, and a rich civil rights history. The coastal areas, too, offer a different kind of Southern charm with beautiful beaches. While Texas is often considered more Southwest, its culture and hospitality share many similarities with its Southern neighbors, and it's definitely one of my favorite states I've traveled to. This state is massive and incredibly diverse. From the lively music scene and quirky vibe of Austin to the historic missions of San Antonio and the vast ranches, there's always something new to discover. The Tex-Mex food alone is worth the trip! If you're planning your next adventure in the Southeast, be prepared for incredible food – think BBQ, biscuits, and sweet tea – and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Each state has its unique flavor, but a common thread of warmth and tradition runs through them all. So, for those asking "Where should I go next?", I highly recommend diving deep into the Southern states. Beyond my top picks, states like North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Florida also offer incredible experiences, from stunning beaches to unique cultural festivals. The opportunities for exploration are endless, and you're bound to find your own favorite Southern gem!
