OOTD Pt. 1

It’s Wednesday which means we’re half way through the week 😭 Hang in there y’all!

One of the most important things I consider when getting ready for work is how comfortable I want to be. I work with kids but also in an office setting so my goal is to appear casually professional ✨

A button up and cardigan can make jeans and sneakers look a little more appropriate in the workplace. My goal is to look cute, cool, and professional while remaining as comfy as possible 😭👌🏾

Like many of you, I used to think 'professional' meant sacrificing comfort, but I've learned some tricks to keep it stylish without feeling stiff. Beyond my go-to blue cable-knit cardigan and striped button-up shirt with wide-leg cargo jeans and clean sneakers, there are so many ways to nail the 'casually professional' vibe. One of my favorite tips is to always invest in good quality basics. A well-fitting pair of dark-wash jeans, for example, can instantly look more polished than a lighter, distressed pair. And when it comes to footwear, those crisp white or neutral-colored sneakers are perfect for adding a modern touch without looking too casual. I always make sure mine are spotless! Think about versatile layering pieces. A chic blazer, even over a simple t-shirt or a knit top, can elevate your entire look. I love how a structured blazer makes me feel instantly more put-together, even if I'm wearing my comfiest trousers. Don't underestimate the power of a good quality knit — a fine-gauge sweater or a stylish knit polo can bridge the gap between casual and formal effortlessly. Another area I've explored is comfortable yet chic bottom options beyond jeans. Tailored trousers in comfortable fabrics like ponte or even a wide-leg linen blend (depending on your workplace) are fantastic. Midi skirts, especially in a flowy or pleated style, paired with a tucked-in blouse or a fitted top, can also be super comfortable and look incredibly professional. And for those days when you need something quick and easy, a simple, well-fitting dress can be your best friend. Just throw on a cardigan or a blazer, add some subtle jewelry, and you're good to go! I often reach for my knit midi dresses because they're so comfortable and versatile. Remember, accessories play a huge role too! A nice watch, a simple necklace, or a structured bag can pull an entire outfit together. It's all about those little details that make you feel confident and ready to tackle the day. What are some of your favorite pieces for achieving that perfect casual-professional balance? I'm always looking for new ideas!
