Botm August pick🫶
This month was such a hard decision ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I ended up going with forget me not and I’m SO happy with my decision! I’ve been reading a lot of dark romance lately and I love doing a pallet cleanse with a thriller every once in a while. Although I’m a little more than half way through I’m obsessed! It’s the perfect book for late summer early fall and even though it’s a thriller, the farm it takes place on seems so cozy despite all the secrets it keeps. I hope Claire is able to help Marcia and find out more on Natalie’s disappearance but it looks likes she’s getting so so close!

Stacy Willing's 'Forget Me Not' truly stands out, especially if you're like me and often find yourself deep in the world of dark romance. This Book of the Month pick was exactly what I needed—a perfect psychological thriller to cleanse the palate and pull me into a different kind of suspense. The original article mentions being halfway through and obsessed, and honestly, I completely get it! The way the story unfolds, with its seemingly innocent farm setting contrasting sharply with the deep, unsettling secrets it holds, is just masterful. What makes it so compelling is how Stacy Willing crafts her narrative. It's not just a simple mystery; it's a slow burn that builds tension so effectively. You're constantly questioning characters' motives, trying to piece together the puzzles surrounding Natalie's disappearance. The protagonist, Claire, is incredibly easy to root for, and you become instantly invested in her quest for truth. It's the kind of book that keeps you up late, telling yourself, 'just one more chapter!' – which definitely explains why it's been my 'Currently Reading' obsession. For anyone looking for a solid thriller recommendation, 'Forget Me Not' is absolutely 'Worth the Hype.' If you've enjoyed authors who blend psychological depth with gripping suspense, like Freida McFadden or Shari Lapena, then Stacy Willing is an author you'll want to discover. Her ability to create an eerie atmosphere within such a charming backdrop is a testament to her storytelling. It perfectly captures that late summer/early fall vibe, making you want to curl up with a blanket and get lost in its pages, even as the chills run down your spine. The thought of a cozy farm harboring such dark secrets is just too intriguing to resist! This isn't just about solving a case; it delves into the complexities of trust, community dynamics, and how past events can ripple through generations. Every page brings you closer to the truth, and just when you think you've figured it out, the story throws another curveball. My personal experience with this BOTM choice has been nothing short of fantastic, offering a truly immersive and thought-provoking reading journey. If you're ready for a thrilling escape that will keep you guessing until the very end, this is the book for you.
