I can’t believe my skin used to look like this

My skin care journey has been a long road that I’m still on , but the before pictures were Fall 2022-Spring 2023 my skin suddenly started breaking out terribly and I was devoloping cystic acne, as well as a million dark spots bc I can never leave my skin alone🥴. To Now I found a routine that worked rlly well for me in summer 2023. Which consists of the following

🌸Cleansers : I use “The Inkey list “Salycilic Acid & Hyaluronic Acid face washes , I alternate between the 2 as I have acne prone skin but also dry skin so I didn’t want to strip the layers of my skin too much by over using the salycilic acid.

🌸Toner: I actually am not a big fan of toners I’ve tried many and for some reason they just break me out. Only thing I use as a “toner” is the ordinary glycolic acid which I use about 2x a week

🌸Serums

1. I use the ordinary hyaluronic acid

2. Niacinamide, I Recently switched from the ordinary to Naturium for my niacinamide bc they have a slightly stronger concentration of Niacinamide & Zinc which atm my main skin concern is fading a few remaining dark spots

3. The “Glow deep serum” everyone raves about Korean skin care so I got the serum bc of one key ingredient “Alpha Arbutin” which is also a brightening agent so when paired with Niacinamide the combo will do wonders for ur skin

🌸Moisturizer : I keep it rlly basic when it comes to moisturizer, I like to use either The original UNSCENTED Eucerin or Aquaphor to moisturize. Remeber since these products are very hydrating a little goes a long way. Not to mention the price point. They work and are inexpensive!

In this article, I share my experience with various products that have transformed my skin over the past year. Choosing the right cleanser is crucial; I use The Inkey List's Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid face washes to maintain a healthy balance for acne-prone and dry skin. It's essential to avoid over-stripping your skin, which can worsen breakouts. Toners have never worked well for me, but using glycolic acid twice a week has been beneficial for gentle exfoliation and brightening. When it comes to serums, I've had great results with The Ordinary's hyaluronic acid and Naturium's niacinamide. Both help in fading dark spots and improving overall skin texture. Another standout is a Korean serum with Alpha Arbutin, known for its brightening properties. Moisturizing is vital, especially when dealing with sensitive skin. I prefer unscented options like Eucerin or Aquaphor, which provide deep hydration without irritation. Remember, effective skincare doesn’t need to be expensive; prioritize products that suit your skin type. With consistent care and the right products, you can achieve clearer, healthier skin. Don't lose hope—your skin journey can lead to remarkable transformations!
