RED FRIDAY - U.S.S. ABRAHAM LINCOLN
14 Aug 2026 - RED FRIDAY
@
Before this Friday ends, I just want to remind everyone of our Navy personnel aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Yes, deployments are rough, but we must recall they've been extended, and the logistics/resupply has not caught up. Plus, they've had mechanical issues as well. Morale is suffering.
As I've followed reports, I'm saddened to see that some who've worn the uniform have the audacity to question the integrity and grit of these servicemembers at this time.
How soon we forget what we've seen and been through. 🤦🏾♀️
Then there are those who've never worn the uniform (but are in leadership) who dare to minimize the current situation and not take accountability for it. It's a shame.
Even sadder is the waivering hope
of family members.
America is better than this, Folks.
So I turn to the one thing I can control when helplessness
arises - PRAYER.
Please keep these men and women lifted up in prayer.
- Pray for their physical & mental strength
- Pray for their resolve
- Pray for God's Hands of protection over their location and the vessel
- Pray for the wisdom of leadership within the ranks and especially amid the military leaders in the Pentagon.
Father God, have Your Way and bring clarity, calm, sound counsel, and resolution to this situation in the Name of Jesus. 🙏🏾

Observing RED Friday is a meaningful way to honor those deployed, especially the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln who endure extended deployments under challenging conditions. From my experience, deployments often strain servicemembers not just physically but emotionally and mentally as well. When deployments are prolonged, as with the USS Abraham Lincoln, the strain on logistics and resupply can lag behind, impacting daily life onboard and morale. Mechanicals issues add another layer of difficulty, requiring resilience and teamwork among the crew. These sailors embody grit and dedication, qualities we should respect and cherish rather than question. As someone who has supported military families and personnel, I’ve seen how critical it is for civilians and leadership alike to acknowledge these struggles and provide unwavering support. The call for prayer during RED Friday is not only a spiritual gesture but also a powerful way to foster community and healing. Praying for physical health, mental strength, resolve, and protection contributes to a collective sense of care and hope. Additionally, praying for military leadership to have wisdom encourages accountability and better decision-making to improve conditions for the deployed. Families of deployed servicemembers endure the hardship of uncertainty and worry, which can be heartbreaking. Public recognition like RED Friday can help remind them and the wider community that these sacrifices are not forgotten. Supporting the deployed also means advocating for improved logistics, timely maintenance, and open communication to keep morale high. Ultimately, RED Friday serves as a reminder to remember every service member deployed, to offer encouragement, and to reflect on the resilience required in service. Taking a moment to reach out, send a message of support, or simply keep them in thought can make a significant difference to those far from home and their loved ones.
