As an active Twitch streamer, I recently came across the new Generative AI training feature that Twitch rolled out, which automatically opts in users to help train Amazon's AI models using their channel content. While this can improve community tools and streamer growth features, many streamers, including myself, have concerns about privacy and ownership of their content. I decided to opt out of this feature to maintain control over my channel's content. The good news is that Twitch provides a straightforward way to disable this option both on desktop and mobile platforms. On desktop, all you need to do is go to your Profile icon, select Settings, navigate to the Security and Privacy tab, and toggle off the 'Training for Generative AI' option. On mobile, tap the Preferences gear icon in your profile, go to Security & Privacy, and toggle the setting off. It's important to note that opting out of this AI training feature does not exclude your content from other uses by Twitch and Amazon according to their privacy policy. Features such as real-time sponsorship assistance, viewer recommendations, and moderation tools may still utilize your content to help enhance user experience and community safety. I urge other Twitch streamers and viewers to be aware of this feature and make an informed decision about their participation.
