I can’t believe she said that to me!
As you may know, I operate an Amazon storefront, one of my side hustles that I'm particularly proud of, in addition to my other business. I've been sharing my links with everyone, and I want to stress that supporting my business is entirely up to you. However, I was taken aback by a response from someone close to me after I shared my link with them. They stated that they're struggling and don't see why they should support my business, adding that it's not that they don't want to see me do well. I called them to discuss their statement, and they explained that they shouldn't have to shop on Amazon through my link, asking why they should essentially give me their money. I let them know that there was no pressure, and I was simply sharing my links as I do with everyone else. Some people don’t want to see good things happening to you. #amazon
In the world of side hustles, sharing your endeavors can sometimes lead to unexpected reactions. Many individuals running small businesses on platforms like Amazon face similar uncertainties regarding the support of friends and family. Supporting a fellow entrepreneur doesn't always require a significant commitment; even small gestures, like using a shared link, can foster community and mutual encouragement. However, it's essential to understand the reluctance some may have due to their circumstances. Navigating the emotional landscape of entrepreneurship can be challenging. For many, the fear of judgment or guilt can stop them from seeking support from loved ones. It's crucial to have open conversations, turning moments of conflict into opportunities for growth, understanding, and connection. By fostering an environment of open dialogue, we can bridge the gap in expectations and explore ways to support each other's journeys without pressure. Remember, entrepreneurship isn't just about the financial support; it's also about creating a network of individuals who share your ambitions and dreams. Every small action towards supporting one another can build a stronger, more connected community in the world of business.
