What does your job offer new mothers?

As I start thinking about family planning and what it means to balance work and motherhood, I came across something at my workplace that made me stop and think: the Mothers Room.

It’s not just a legally-required space to pump (though it’s that, too) – it’s a thoughtfully designed, comfortable area that truly supports new moms. From cozy seating and a footstool to multiple tables and helpful resources about lactation laws, it’s clear that my workplace goes above and beyond the bare minimum.

As I prepare for the future, it made me realize how important these kinds of spaces are in supporting working moms and helping them feel valued. 🍼💼

If you're planning a family or just curious about what workplaces can offer, it’s eye-opening to see how small changes can make a big difference in someone’s day-to-day. I’m so grateful for these kinds of thoughtful touches, and I hope more workplaces will follow suit.

This is so important! 😭 Having a space that actually supports new moms makes such a huge difference!! not just for pumping, but for feeling respected and valued at work. I love seeing companies go beyond the bare minimum. What’s the nicest or most thoughtful thing your workplace offers for parents?

Nothing unfortunately. I’ve been on shift and had a coworker who’s a new mom have to go into a utility closet to pump and stuff. It’s really disheartening tbh so I love that yours does this.
