January fit check✨👗🛍

Just a couple of fits from this past month, which was an amazing start to the year! January was long but so productive and fun already! Went to X Games in Aspen and saw Levity in Salt Lake City, Utah, all while celebrating my besties birthday and exploring a new state! 🥳

I’m starting to branch out this year when it comes to fashion and trying new things! One thing I’m going to try to incorporate in my outfits are heels because I feel like it can really elevate a look and I’m trying to go for some boss bi*** vibes 🤪✨

I’m also trying to figure out how to layer especially for Colorado winters and how to accessorize a little better, if you have any tips or tricks lmk!! 🫶🏼

... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So many of you resonated with my January fit checks and asked about practical outfits, especially for travel and trips. It got me thinking about one of the most common dilemmas: what to wear on a school trip! Whether it's an educational excursion, a sports event, or an overnight adventure, balancing comfort, style, and practicality is key. I've learned a few tricks, especially when exploring new states or tackling chilly Colorado winters, and I’m excited to share them with you! First off, comfort is absolutely non-negotiable. You'll likely be doing a lot of walking, sitting, and moving around, so those cute but painful shoes? Leave them at home! Think versatile sneakers, comfortable boots, or even stylish loafers. For long bus or car rides, I often channel those 'Road Trip Vibes' with a cozy loungewear set – imagine soft joggers and a matching hoodie, perhaps with some fluffy slippers for maximum comfort during the journey, ready to swap for sneakers when you arrive. Layering is another game-changer, something I’m constantly perfecting for those unpredictable weather shifts, like going from the crisp air of Aspen to a warmer indoor venue. Start with a breathable base layer, add a mid-layer like a cardigan (my red knitted cardigan comes to mind!) or a flannel, and top it off with a jacket. A puffer vest, like the one I paired with a black top and flared pants, is fantastic because it adds warmth without bulk and can be easily removed. If you're heading somewhere really cold, a proper ski jacket, echoing my X Games look, is essential. Don't forget a beanie – maybe even one with a fun design like the Hello Kitty beanie I love – to keep warm and add personality! For specific types of school trips, I have different go-to looks. If it's an urban exploration or museum visit, I like to look a bit put-together but still comfy. A stylish mini dress (like my cinched one) with leggings underneath for warmth or comfortable tights, paired with practical ankle boots or chic sneakers, works perfectly. For something more active, like a field trip or an outdoor event, think about durable leggings or comfortable pants, a long-sleeved top, and a practical jacket. My 'WORKOUT FIT' from the gym bathroom, with a zip-up jacket and patterned leggings, shows how functional activewear can be adapted. Accessorizing wisely can elevate any 'January Fit Check'. A small crossbody bag or a compact backpack is great for carrying essentials without being cumbersome. Sunglasses are a must, and if you're like me and love a bit of sparkle, a simple necklace or some fun earrings can add that finishing touch. Remember those travel photos? You want to look good, but you also want to be able to enjoy the experience without being distracted by uncomfortable clothes. My biggest tip from my own adventures, whether celebrating a bestie's birthday in a new state or just exploring, is to check the weather forecast for your destination right before you pack. And if you're trying to achieve those 'boss bi*** vibes' like I am, a comfortable pair of kitten heels or low block heels could be an option for an evening event, but always have a backup pair of flats!
