NYC offers so many different stores, restaurants, activities, etc. it is insane, you could never do everything in just one day! But here is what my BF and I accomplished in our 48 hours.
The Jellycat Diner was such an amazing place, we luckily went early enough that no one was there and we had virtually no wait time, but I have seen over the holidays it has been picking up. The diner offers an entire experience where you pick the “food” you want and watch as they prepare it right in front of your eyes. You can enjoy the experience or you can shop around for your favorite NYC themed Jellycats. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Korea Way offered many places like Tosokchon to grab a bite or the Face Shop for your skincare needs. The food at Tosokchon was some of the best Korean I have had in my life, they offered a beautiful experience with bibs and different toppings and a variety of foods. Definetly check it out to get an amazing experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
30th st guitars was for my boyfriend! But they offered so many different guitars and he got to try them out. It seemed like the owners knew their clients well and what they needed and would be a beautiful spot to visit on a weekly basis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have never been to Madison Square Garden but getting to experience it, as well as the Wallows was amazing. The arena is huge and all seats offer the best views ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lastly we had to experience a NYC bagel, that was still in walking distance to our hotel! So we tried Pio Bagels and it was top tier!! I got whitefish salad while my boyfriend got the pancake breakfast and we left full and satisfied ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
... Read moreSpending just 48 hours in New York City feels like trying to capture lightning in a bottle – there's so much to do, see, and eat that it's impossible to experience it all! But even a short trip can be incredibly rich if you plan well and stay open to new discoveries. Our recent whirlwind visit proved that you can pack in a ton of unique experiences, from trendy pop-ups to iconic landmarks and delicious food.
Let's talk about the Jellycat Diner, since I know many of you are curious, especially about Jellycat Diner prices. This place isn't just a shop; it's a full-on immersive experience! When you 'pick' your Jellycat 'food' item, you're essentially choosing a Jellycat plushie. The price of these adorable plushies varies depending on their size and design, just like buying any Jellycat in a store. From personal experience, the smaller, themed ones (like the 'hot dog' or 'burger' items) might be around $20-$30, while larger or more intricate designs can easily go up to $50 or more. The real value, though, is in the interactive presentation – watching them 'prepare' your chosen item is super cute and makes for a fantastic memory. My tip? Go early, especially if you're visiting during peak times like holidays, to avoid long waits and fully enjoy the whimsical atmosphere. It truly does feel like a unique, personalized experience, as the 'MADE FRESH FOR' label on my Jellycat box suggested!
Beyond the diner, our exploration of Korea Way was a definite highlight. Tosokchon was an absolute culinary revelation for Korean food. We loved the traditional setup with bibs and all the banchan (side dishes) you could wish for. If you go, definitely try their ginseng chicken soup or their amazing seafood pancake – they’re so comforting and authentic. But Korea Way isn't just about food; it's a vibrant hub! We also popped into The Face Shop for some K-beauty essentials, and you’ll find countless other boutiques selling everything from K-pop merchandise to unique fashion. It's a great spot to wander and soak in the culture.
For those who love music, 30th Street Guitars was a gem. My boyfriend was in heaven trying out different electric guitars. What made it special was the staff – they were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate, making recommendations that felt genuinely tailored. It’s those kinds of niche, enthusiast-run shops that often provide the most authentic local experiences. And of course, catching the Wallows concert at Madison Square Garden was an unforgettable moment. The arena is huge, but the acoustics and views were surprisingly excellent from our seats. If you’re ever planning to see a show there, I’d recommend checking out the seating charts beforehand, but honestly, it felt like there wasn’t a bad seat in the house.
And you can't go to NYC without a bagel! Pio Bagels was a fantastic choice, conveniently close to our hotel. I went for the whitefish salad – a classic NYC deli staple – and my boyfriend got the pancake breakfast, which was also top-tier. The bagels themselves were perfectly chewy with a crisp crust, exactly what you expect from a great New York bagel. There are so many amazing bagel spots, but Pio definitely lived up to the hype for a quick and satisfying breakfast.
On our way, I also stumbled upon Kinokuniya, a fantastic Japanese bookstore near Bryant Park that I spotted on an image. While not in our original plan, it was a treasure trove if you're into anime, manga, unique Japanese stationery, or even those adorable small figurines. It's exactly the kind of unexpected find that makes a trip to NYC so special. Even in just 48 hours, the city offers endless possibilities for discovery!
