My weight loss journey so far❤️

I wish I could hug the girl on the left. She has been through the wringer. All the heart break and trauma she has endured. From losing her mother at a young age to all the physical, mental, & emotional abuse she had endured. To Being a single mama, etc. Her health went down hill. Depression consumed her. She no longer loved herself and continued to give and give to others even when her cup was bone dry.

It took a long hard look in the mirror to realize that I couldn’t keep living that way. I found a man who truly loves me, supports me in a way nobody ever has, and pushes me to keep going even when I want to give up. I traded unloveable, one sided friendships for ones that truly matter & people who genuinely care about me and pour into me equally what I pour into them.

I have been working so hard on myself. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Going to the gym multiple times a week and doing things I told myself for years I would/could never do. I’ve been letting my inner child, that’s been hidden for so long, come out & enjoy all the little things with my kids.

I’m a long way from my goal but I’m so proud of how far I have come so far. ❤️

... Read moreEmbarking on a weight loss journey can be profoundly transformative, both physically and emotionally. Many people may not realize that weight loss isn't just about shedding pounds; it's also about healing and rebuilding oneself from within. The process often involves confronting past traumas, insecurities, and unhealthy relationships that may have contributed to weight gain. Understanding the psychological aspects of weight loss is crucial. For many, like myself, the journey begins with self-acceptance and the realization that change is necessary. Finding supportive communities, whether through social media or local groups, can greatly enhance motivation and provide encouragement. Whether it's connecting with others undergoing bariatric surgery, like VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) experiences, or simply sharing stories of resilience, these connections can be invaluable. Exercise plays a significant role in weight loss, but it also enhances mental well-being. Engaging in physical activity helps to release endorphins, which can combat feelings of depression and anxiety. It's important to rediscover joy in movement, whether by returning to the gym or exploring new activities that nourish both body and soul. As a part of the lifestyle change, focusing on nutrition is essential. It's not just about eating less but choosing healthier options that fuel the body adequately. Taking small, sustainable steps towards better eating habits can lead to significant long-term changes. Many individuals find success by educating themselves on nutrition and meal planning while ensuring they don't miss out on the pleasure of food. Ultimately, a weight loss journey is deeply personal, and while the path may vary for everyone, the common goal remains: to lead a happier and healthier life. Celebrate the small victories and remember that true health encompasses mind, body, and spirit!
