How to grow your nails out with builder gel in 8 steps 🫧

Step 1: Gently drill off your old builder gel so your nail is smooth. Don’t touch your natural nails with this bit.

Step 2: Use a sanding band to buff the rest of the nail.

Step 3: Prep your cuticles. Going in forward and reverse motion.

Step 4: File your nails to the shape and length that you want.

Step 5: Apply acetone as a dehydrator.

Step 6: Paint primer over your whole nail.

Step 7: Paint a slip layer of your builder gel over your whole nail and cure.

Step 8: Get a bead of builder gel and apply it to the appex of the nail. Work it back and forth into the slip layer and it will melt evenly. You can turn your finger upside down so the apex forms smoothly. Look at your line of light on the nail as a reference. Cure it and you are done.

Extra tips:

Make sure to not use too much product because it will flood so much easier. Less is more.

If you do cure it and you did flood your cuticles you can always go back in with a nail bit and clean it up. Also you can buff your nail to be even with a nail bit or nail file. This product is very forgiving I love it so much.

Using acetone will ensure the cuticle bed area will be dried out and you’ll be able to apply the product as close to the bed of your nails as possible. When you wash your nails before applying builder gel or any gel it will make your cuticle beds swell up with moisture making it harder to get closer to the nail.

Buffing the nail will help so the product will adhere to the nail.

Painting a slip layer will make it so the bead of builder gel will melt into a layer already applied and you will be able to build the apex and the side walls will already have product.

Adding a bead of builder gel helps build the apex of the nail which will give it the strength it needs to grow healthy and strong.

Thanks I hope that helped. Follow for more nail tips.

If you are seeing this thank you. I appreciate you. 🤍

... Read moreI totally get the struggle of trying to grow out your natural nails, only for them to break as soon as they get a little length. Sound familiar? That was my life until I discovered the magic of builder gel! This isn't just about making your nails pretty; it's about giving them the support they need to actually thrive and get that gorgeous length you've been dreaming of. For me, builder gel became a total game-changer. Unlike regular gel polish that might just add a layer of color, builder gel thickens and reinforces your natural nail. Think of it like a protective shield that allows your own nails to grow underneath without constantly chipping or snapping. This structural integrity is key to achieving those beautiful long natural nails. I used to be so frustrated with how flimsy my nails felt, but after starting with builder gel, they've never been stronger or longer. One thing I learned quickly is that good application is everything to avoid common issues. You know how the main article talks about not using too much product? This is crucial! If you flood your cuticles, the builder gel can lift prematurely, which defeats the whole purpose of nurturing your natural nails. I found that applying thinner layers and taking my time, especially around the cuticle area, really makes a difference. And if you do accidentally get some on your skin, clean it up before curing! It’s much easier than trying to file it off later. Proper curing under the light is also super important to ensure the gel hardens completely and bonds well to your nail, preventing those annoying lifts. Once you’ve got that length, maintaining your long natural nails is the next step. I always keep a good nail file handy to gently shape them as they grow. Regular shaping helps prevent snags and keeps them looking tidy. I personally love an almond or coffin shape as it makes my fingers look longer, but finding your perfect nail cutting shape is all about personal preference! Don't forget about hydration, too. Even with builder gel, your natural nails and cuticles need love. I swear by cuticle oil several times a day and a rich hand cream, especially before bed. This helps prevent dryness and keeps your nails flexible, reducing the chances of breakage, which can sometimes be mistaken for dry dehydrated toenails, but it applies to fingernails too! Having strong, long natural nails means they become the perfect canvas for any look. Whether I'm going for an aesthetic pastel nails vibe or just a simple, clean girl aesthetic, my builder gel nails always look polished and healthy. It's such a confidence booster to have beautiful nails that don't constantly break. This journey has not only given me the nails I always wanted but also a fun, relaxing self-care routine. Give it a try; you might be surprised how much you love your new, long natural nails!
