My New Kitty 🐾

It's such an exciting (and slightly overwhelming!) time bringing a new kitten home, especially one as special as my little tabby Maine Coon mix. She's got the most mesmerizing green eyes and those 'Cutest Lil Paws' that just melt your heart. Knowing she was a stray makes me even more determined to find her the perfect name – a name she'll love and respond to, a name that truly feels like 'hers.' When I first brought her home, she had been temporarily named Millie, and it's a sweet name, don't get me wrong! But I feel like we need to find something that perfectly captures her unique personality as she settles into her forever home. Finding that ideal name is tougher than you think! I've been doing a lot of research on how cats react to different sounds. Experts often say short names, or names with strong 'ee' sounds, can be easier for kittens to pick up on. I'm hoping to choose one she'll quickly learn to recognize and come running when called! I've been brainstorming a ton, and my friend even suggested naming her Mouse, after her giant Maine Coon, which is hilarious! But I'm looking for something that feels just right for my little girl. I've considered names that reflect her beautiful tabby markings or her regal Maine Coon heritage. How do you even begin to narrow it down? I've also been looking at popular cat names for inspiration. Names like Luna, Willow, or Daisy always pop up, and they're so pretty! Then there are the super silly and adorable names – imagine a cat named Pickle or Biscuit! The goal is a name that's not only cute but also practical for training. I want her to associate her name with positive things, so I'll be using lots of treats and gentle encouragement.
