Why I don't post this
Like many, I struggle with depression. Often, when I have too many things going on at once, I get so tired that I don’t take care of myself. In these photos i had grease hair, hairy legs, and I felt so poorly about myself. I didn’t even feel like myself because earlier that day I did my full glam makeup.
Don’t let what others post on social media make you feel like you need to be a certain way. We all have bad times in life and we all have struggles 💞 you got this bestie bae 🫶🏻
In today’s digital age, the pressure to present a perfect life online can weigh heavily on many of us. The curated images we see on platforms can often lead to feelings of inadequacy or comparison. It’s vital to recognize that behind every picture, there’s a story of real emotions and struggles, much like the feelings I experienced in my recent moments. Social media can be a double-edged sword, offering both a platform for connection and a source of pressure. By acknowledging our feelings of discomfort or struggle, we can foster a more supportive community. Emphasizing that it’s okay not to appear 'put together' all the time helps to diminish the unrealistic standards set by the highlights that flood our feeds. Instead of focusing on curated narratives, we should celebrate authenticity—sharing both our ups and downs enriches our collective experience and promotes self-acceptance. Let’s create a space where vulnerability is welcomed and encouraged. Sharing our true selves, even when messy or imperfect, contributes to a more honest discourse surrounding mental health. It reminds us that we are not alone in our experiences, and offers an opportunity for others to reflect on their own journeys with compassion and understanding. Remember, each of us is a mosaic of experiences, both good and challenging, and there is beauty in that complexity.
