Try Benetint With Me! - Lemon8Box 🍋
I’m giving my honest review of this product.
My Lemon8 x Benefit Box arrived! Today I tried the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Rose Liquid Lip Blush and Cheek Tint.
This product retails for $24.
It’s very sheer upon application. I felt like it took at least two coats on the lips for the color to appear. My natural lip color is already a brown transitioning to a light pink, So the rose tint shade on me in my opinion felt a bit too red. It could be user error on my end for the lips, but I feel like it’s also a tad splotchy upon application. It reminded me of when you have drank too much fruit punch from a cup and it leaves a harsh line.
For the cheeks, I added 3 applications of product (3 big dots for each application) just to see a very subtle red blush. I think next time I would apply the product even more generously on my cheeks knowing how sheer it is now.
I think that this product is runny and I know it stated that this product is supposed to be buildable, but I feel like it takes a lot of effort to build up on my cheeks. This product really is a 6/10 for me personally only because despite being buildable with how sheer it is, it genuinely takes so many passes of application to see a very minimal difference on the cheeks vs. using it on the lips. That being said I feel like if i was to incorpoate this product in my makeup routine I would prefer to use this rose shade on my cheeks rather than my lips.
Have you tried Benetint!? What are your thoughts?

After diving deep into my first experience with Benefit's Benetint, I wanted to share some expanded thoughts and tips on how to truly make the most of this famous rose tint, especially given its unique sheerness and application. When you're considering a product like Benetint, understanding how to use it effectively is key to loving it. Let’s talk about applying Benetint to the lips. My initial thought was that it was quite sheer, requiring multiple coats to achieve a noticeable color. To prevent that slightly splotchy look, I've found a few tricks. First, make sure your lips are well-exfoliated and moisturized. A smooth base really helps the tint go on evenly. Instead of swiping, try dabbing the product along your lip line and then quickly blending it inward with a clean fingertip or a lip brush. For a more intense rose tint, apply one thin layer, let it dry for a few seconds, and then apply another. This layering technique helps build the color without creating harsh lines, ensuring a more natural, flushed look. If you want to enhance the longevity, consider applying a clear lip liner first, which can also prevent any feathering. For cheeks, the application of Benetint is a bit different. As noted, it took several applications to get even a subtle flush. To truly master the Benetint use on your cheeks, start with a well-hydrated and primed face. Instead of applying large dots, which can dry quickly and lead to unevenness, try applying one small dot at a time to the apples of your cheeks. Blend it out immediately using a stippling brush, a damp beauty sponge, or even your fingertips in a tapping motion. The key is speed and blending! If you want more intensity, repeat the process with another small dot, building the color gradually. This method prevents the product from settling too quickly and gives you more control over the final look. For a more diffused, natural glow, you can also apply a small amount to the back of your hand, then pick it up with your blending tool and apply. The OCR mentioned "sheerness and application" – and indeed, it’s a learning curve to get that perfect sheer, buildable look. Benetint is known for its longwear properties, and while it might take effort to build up, once it's on, it generally stays put. This makes it fantastic for those days when you want a hint of color that lasts without needing constant touch-ups. The "rose tint" is universally flattering but can look different based on your natural undertones. On cooler skin, it might appear as a true rosy pink, while on warmer tones, it can lean slightly more berry or even a muted red. My personal takeaway is that while it demands a bit more fuss during application due to its liquid consistency and sheerness, the end result – a natural, lasting flush – can be quite beautiful. It's a great option for a no-makeup makeup look or as a base for powder blushes and lipsticks to add extra depth and staying power.
