Quick GRWM

Hey everyone! We all have those mornings where time is just flying, but we still want to look put-together, right? That’s exactly when my go-to quick GRWM (Get Ready With Me) comes in handy. It’s all about maximizing impact with minimal effort, and I’ve found some amazing products that truly make a difference, especially for us black women who want our makeup to pop! When it comes to eyeshadow, my Beauty Bay palettes are always my first pick. They’re incredibly pigmented, which means you don't need to build up color endlessly. A quick wash of a warm brown in the crease and a shimmery gold on the lid from one of their palettes can instantly brighten the eyes. The shades are so rich and vibrant, they really stand out beautifully on deeper skin tones. I love how versatile they are, allowing for a soft, natural look or something a bit more dramatic if I have an extra minute. After eyes, I focus on complexion. For a quick look, I usually skip heavy foundation and go for a tinted moisturizer or a light layer of my favorite concealer in areas that need a little extra help. Blending is key here! I make sure it melts seamlessly into my skin, paying close attention around my nose and under my eyes. A little setting powder, especially in the T-zone, helps keep everything in place throughout the day without looking cakey. And don't forget blush – a pop of peachy or berry blush can really bring life to your face! One thing I’ve learned, especially when I know I might be on a video call or taking a quick selfie, is how important it is to consider how your makeup looks under a 'ZOOM LENS'. What looks good in person might need a little tweaking for the camera. For example, I make sure my blending is impeccable – no harsh lines! Also, I use a matte or satin finish foundation/concealer to avoid too much shine, as that can really be emphasized on camera. A good setting spray, like Urban Decay's All Nighter, is a must-have for locking everything in and making sure it looks fresh and flawless, even when magnified. For lips, a nude liner and a gloss or a swipe of a hydrating lipstick are perfect. I always find a good brown liner and a peachy-nude gloss works wonders for a quick, polished look.
