french knots at the top - this is what it looks like when one superfine fiber slips out of a flat silk thread and you decide to ignore it and keep going, the knots become a bit messy and don’t look very neat.
french knots at the bottom show the correct result, when the thread stays smooth and doesn’t fluff anywhere.
