Pink colors
Some colors are quite difficult to match, because the threads need to be bright enough and often very thin, especially when we’re talking about light shades. Sometimes extremely thin.
Rayon and silk in white and light pink are usually a bit darker than cotton of the same color, and this becomes very noticeable in miniature embroidery.
But it’s not easy to find cotton threads that are thin enough, and their color range is limited
That’s why i blend thin cotton threads with separated rayon or silk strands. And if I use cotton floss, i adjust the shade with an ultra‑thin rayon or silk thread
For this project, my favorite cotton threads are Madeira cotton 50wt and Autifil cotton 80wt, they’re the best, but i also use Soie Surfine #Creme

For example, using Madeira cotton 50wt paired with ultra-thin rayon strands can create a soft yet vivid pink that stands out beautifully on fabric. Another insight I gained is that rayon and silk threads tend to be slightly darker than cotton threads of the same color, which becomes very noticeable in fine embroidery work. By blending these materials, you're able to balance the depth and brightness effectively. Additionally, I find that the Autifil cotton 80wt works excellently when more delicacy is required, thanks to its thinness and smooth finish. Combining it with threads like Soie Surfine #Creme for highlights can elevate your color palette and add texture contrast. It’s also useful to pay attention to thread color codes for precision, such as Col 1152 Lol 913804 CLASSIC or Col.591 Lol 201 Arl.No. 9350, which help replicate specific shades consistently. With practice, blending these thread types enhances the vibrancy and subtlety of your embroidery, making your light pink projects truly stand out. Keep experimenting with different combinations to find the perfect balance that suits your stitching style and project needs.
