Anyone else struggling?

Lately it feels like no matter how much I rest, I’m still tired. Not just in my body but in my spirit. I used to try to escape the hard feelings with things that only pulled me further from myself but now I’m learning to slow down and meet myself where I’m at.

Somedays meeting myself looks like brushing my teeth, doing my hair, going outside for fresh air, or feeling the sun on my skin. Being present. Just being.

If your heart feels heavy today, this is your reminder to rest, not quit. You will get through this 🤍

It’s important to understand that rest isn’t just about sleeping or taking breaks, but about giving yourself permission to slow down emotionally and mentally. Practicing small acts like brushing your teeth, grooming, or stepping outside to feel the sun can ground you in the present moment and reconnect with yourself. You might find it helpful to integrate therapeutic music into your routine. Songs with meaningful lyrics can act almost like a form of therapy, helping you process emotions. For example, artists such as Ariana Grande, Tems, JoJo, and Justin Bieber have tracks that many find soothing and validating during low moments. Recognizing the strength it takes to pull yourself out of dark places mentally is crucial. It’s okay to feel tired; the key is to learn how to rest effectively rather than giving up. Wisdom from thought leaders, like the quote attributed to Banksy—"If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit"—reminds us that perseverance also includes self-compassion. It’s also important to challenge negative labels such as 'lazy.' Sometimes, what people call laziness is really 'selective participation,' a deliberate choice to conserve energy and prioritize well-being. This mindset can help reduce guilt and promote healthier self-talk. Finally, embracing gratitude for progress—no matter how small—and recognizing your bravery through tough times helps foster resilience. Remember, mental health growth is not always linear. Being kind to yourself every day, whether you’re in a good place or not, is vital for healing and moving forward.
