... Read moreThrifting is such an exciting adventure, especially when you have a wishlist lined up for the year! I've found that keeping an open mind while browsing thrift stores often leads to the best surprises, much like discovering a nesting bunny for just $6 or a beautiful hazel atlas milk glass strawberry plate. One thing I've learned is to think beyond the obvious uses for items — for instance, that rattan piece could serve as a plant holder or a stylish display for collectibles like Pyrex dishes. It’s also fun to collect items that fit a specific aesthetic or theme, like my hunt for wicker and rattan furniture to decorate a TikTok-inspired room. I’m still on the lookout for the perfect shelf and a bed frame but was thrilled to find a flower mirror that fits the style beautifully. Fairy lamps are another unique find — unfortunately, I only found a bottom to one, but sometimes that’s part of the thrill! I even keep an eye out for unusual pieces like humidor tables for cigar storage, which can double as chic side tables. Remember to take your time and revisit thrift stores often because new items appear regularly. Always check the condition closely and consider how you might repurpose or upcycle pieces to make them uniquely yours. Whether you are a seasoned thrifter or just starting your wishlist, staying flexible and creative unlocks endless possibilities and fantastic treasures for your projects.
