"Venus Paints Her Future"

For my newest work titled "Venus Paints Her Future", I took direct inspiration from Botticelli's famous piece, "The Birth of Venus". I wanted to depict Venus in a different way from Botticelli's piece. So, I depicted her confidently taking control and painting her own future. She is shown standing on her shell with a wavy sea behind her as she is holding a paintbrush dripping a roadway for a flying car with a towering futuristic cityscape in the background. There are three flying cars to symbolize the other three figures in Botticelli's piece but also to reference the thought of there being flying cars in the future. She is not just the goddess of love and beauty, she can be seen as a symbol of self-love, strength, and confidence to move past the rough seas to create a bright future. She is shown with glowing puzzle pieces throughout her body, this is to represent every woman of the world and how they can find the encouragement and strength to create their futures as well.
