ditl of a sahm x4 ❤️ the day after Christmas!
is it just me or is the day after Christmas a busy one?! Here's a few things I did today as a sahm 🤱
Oh my goodness, the day after Christmas! Is it just me, or does it feel even busier than Christmas Day itself sometimes? I swear, as a stay-at-home mom, every day is a marathon, but the post-holiday slump brings its own unique set of challenges. I wanted to share a little more about my experience this year, because I know so many of us are right there in the thick of it – navigating the aftermath of holiday magic with tired eyes and a heart full of love. Waking up on the day after Christmas felt like hitting a wall. The kids were still buzzing from their new toys and candy, but I was just… exhausted. My first priority, even before tackling the living room wreckage, was to get myself somewhat together. It’s amazing what a quick shower can do for your mindset, right? So, I made sure to take a shower and get dressed for the day – even if it was just leggings and a cozy sweater. It helps me feel human and ready to face the mountain of tasks ahead, setting a small positive tone for the day. Then came the big clean-up. I mean, where does all that wrapping paper come from?! And the boxes for the new toys seemed to multiply overnight! My main mission was to tackle the kitchen first. The dishwasher was overflowing with plates, mugs, and serving dishes from our Christmas feast, so I immediately unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, doing a few rounds to get through everything. After that, I did some cleaning around the living room, gathering up all the discarded ribbons, gift tags, and empty boxes. It felt like an archaeological dig, discovering forgotten crumbs and tiny toy pieces under every cushion. My strategy is always to break it down into smaller, manageable tasks. Maybe I'll start with just one room, or just the floor, or just the dishes. Small victories always add up! Of course, amidst all the tidying, my little ones still needed my attention. That’s the beautiful, chaotic dance of being a SAHM – trying to keep the house from becoming a disaster zone while also being fully present for your children. I made sure to spend some quality time with my babies, playing with their new toys, reading books, and just cuddling on the couch. It's easy to get caught up in the never-ending chores, but those moments of connection are truly what it's all about. Later in the afternoon, as the sugar rush from Christmas treats wore off and the holiday excitement started to wane, my youngest started getting sleepy. There’s something so peaceful and grounding about those moments when I get to rock my baby to sleep, feeling their little body relax against mine. It's a sweet, quiet contrast to the earlier hustle and bustle, a reminder of the core of why I do what I do. This whole experience just reminded me that being a SAHM is a constant juggle. It's about managing expectations (mostly your own!), finding joy in the small moments, and accepting that some days are just going to be messy and tiring, especially after a big event like Christmas. But through it all, there's an incredible sense of accomplishment and love that makes every busy day worth it. We're not just homemakers; we're memory makers, chaos coordinators, and the heart of our families. What do your post-holiday SAHM days look like? Share your tips or relatable moments!

The day after Christmas always was crazy to me to, but I take down all my Christmas decorations the day after Christmas. On top of playing with my son and all his new toys and keeping up with the daily chores. us SAHM do a lot in one day. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I love being a SAHM. 🥰
