Florida Strawberry Festival

Things you should know if you plan to visit the Strawberry Festival at Plant City Festival

1. It ends on March 8th.

2. You can buy the lockers Online or on site, as you can also buy it at Publix and they are much cheaper. Children five years old or younger enter for free.

3. I recommend going on weekdays, since on weekends it is very crowded and going early.

4. There are many lemonade stalls. I recommend you to look at the different stalls that there are so that you can choose the one of your preference since I chose one, which I really didn't like, since they threw Strawberry Syrup on you, but my sister-in-law bought it elsewhere and it was delicious. It even had little pieces of Strawberry inside.

4. You can't leave without trying the Amish donuts.

5. There are many parking lots, surroundings and they fluctuate between 10 and $20.

6. If you have small children who need me to accompany them on the rides, such as in the horses, you have to buy tickets for the adult, they are also not allowed to accompany them for free.

7. Wear comfortable shoes.

8. Most places accept card payments, but there are also cash withdrawal machines in case you need it.

... Read moreMy first time visiting the Florida Strawberry Festival was an absolute sensory delight, and I wanted to share even more about what makes this event so special, beyond just the practical tips! While the original article covered the essentials, I truly feel there's so much more to dive into, especially if you're wondering what the 'strawberry fes' experience is all about. First off, the sheer joy of it all hits you right from the moment you pass the Milton E. Hull Building at the main entrance. The air is buzzing with excitement, and you can smell the sweet scent of strawberries mixed with delicious fair food. Speaking of food, while my tip about looking for the best strawberry lemonade (the one with actual fruit pieces, not just syrup!) is crucial, prepare for a culinary adventure! Beyond the obvious, I spotted countless food stalls offering everything from classic American fair fare like steak sandwiches and gyros to, of course, every strawberry-infused treat imaginable. From chocolate-dipped strawberries to strawberry shortcake (which you can even see celebrated with cute Strawberry Shortcake signage and props), it's a paradise for your taste buds. And don't even get me started on those warm, melt-in-your-mouth Amish donuts – they are an absolute non-negotiable! The festival isn't just about food; it's a vibrant carnival too. The towering Ferris wheel is a landmark, providing fantastic views of the entire festival grounds, especially as the sun begins to set. My little ones absolutely adored the carnival rides. We spent ages watching them giggle on the car-shaped vehicles and the airplane-themed carnival ride, and the classic carousel horse ride was a big hit too. It’s definitely worth checking out Granpa's Clubhouse for free kids' activities and daily shows if you have youngsters. Even if you're just strolling, the atmosphere is electric. You'll see unique sights like a vintage green tractor adorned with an American flag and a 'Let Freedom Ring' bell, making for some fun photo ops. And keep an eye out for the adorable strawberry character mascot, often decked out in a blue military-style uniform with gold accents and a white hat – he's great for a quick picture! One thing I wish I'd known more about before my visit is how much there is to simply explore and soak in. While planning for crowds (especially on weekends) and comfortable shoes is key, remember to also leave room in your schedule for spontaneous discoveries. Whether it's watching a live performance, admiring the agricultural displays, or simply enjoying the sunshine with a fresh strawberry treat in hand, the Florida Strawberry Festival offers more than just rides and food. It's a truly memorable experience that celebrates Florida's rich agricultural heritage in the sweetest way possible. Don't rush it; savor every moment!
